Aaron Bummer extended 5 years/16M (plus two options)
What are the odds he is in 6 or 7 years? Pretty small. That’s all I’m getting at.

Aaron Bummer extended 5 years/16M (plus two options)
I wonder how much of these extensions are an effort to CBA proof themselves

Certainly not unwelcome but locking up a reliever for 7 years seems unnecessary?

Field of Dreams Tickets
They put money in the pocket of one of the most prolific mobsters in American history. That is 100% fact. The Astros won a handful of baseball games more than they should have.

Field of Dreams Tickets
It shouldn't be. One team helped fund a violent crime syndicate. The other didn't. End of story.

Realizing you'd have to tell a guy who just won the batting title and carried a .350+ OBP for an entire year he isn't capable of batting lead off is why trying to build lineups strictly on numbers is silly.

Yasmani Grandal has been intentionally walked 9 times in 3292 plate appearances.

Giolito: The White Sox pitching Yoda?
Slow mo video of Cease that Fegan posted earlier looked an awful lot like he spent a lot of time with Gio

KW says "no Puig"
We're watching different Rockies teams. That first sentence applies WAY more to the White Sox

Less Bunting?!
could be my end, but this is broken

Less Bunting?!
Idk why, protecting late game leads has been the only thing they've been remotely good at.

Robert doesn't walk, but he'll walk more than Anderson. Not sure how you gathered that I think TA has better tools lol. Edit: I see how you could have read that now. When I said that's about it I meant Tim is the only person he'll have a higher walk rate than.

Robert is going to have a higher walk rate than Tim Anderson and that's probably about it.

Yeah, this isn't necessarily what I would do, but this is going to be what it is. I'd probably go EE Eloy Grandal Abreu But again, this is a lineup that sub-optimal lineups are going to have an incredibly marginal effect, at least on paper. If Encarnacion or Abreu or someone is total garbage this would change some.

Fairly confident the standard lineup template to start will be Anderson Moncada Abreu Grandal EE Eloy Mazara Robert 2B

Braves Twitter is legitimately hilarious

Moncada is the only guy that really makes sense as a lead off guy from a numbers perspective, but you're right, he doesn't seem comfortable with it. So I'm content with putting the batting champ there to start. Have a feeling I'll be saying this a lot, but as long as Mazara and Garcia aren't batting in the top of the order on a regular basis I could not give less of a shit what the lineup looks like.

Less Bunting?!
Huh, imagine that. Who could have foreseen this?

I have a hard time believing the Padres are going to catch up with the Dodgers within two years. Especially not with paying 60 mil to negative win players.
-
White Sox Spring Training Thread
They have an awful lot of really, really, really bad money in that lineup. They need Tatis to be like a perennial 6-7 win player to have a chance.

Pretty sure I know exactly what you're talking about, and I think it was just a bad picture. He looks fine in every other one.
