  1. The Cubs took Mathew Peters. Dude throws 100 and may actually have more in the tank.
  2. The Marlins took Kirsh. Ha.
  3. K. C Hunt. Yikes. Careful with that name.
  4. The A's took Oppor. Damn
  5. It's not fair to compare Schultz to other pitchers that tall because is body and the way he moves is very different. Most of the guys mentioned were stiff with long arm actions. Schultz is remarkably flexible and loose for his size. His delivery is very simple and he has about as short an arm action as you can get for a guy with an arm that's long as a boat oar. At a pretty young age he has the ability to sync up his delivery and repeat his arm slot which gives him a chance for above avg command. He still has things to work on like his glove side fastball command and his changeup but he has plenty of time for that. He has as much upside as any player in the draft and has a very real chance to be an ace. It was an outstanding pick.
  6. Meh. I'd take Christian Oppor on a draft and follow or Jacob Bimbi (though it looks like he's going to school) all day over Kirsh. Bryce Osmond would be a great get as would Sam Ireland, Kendall Ewell, Mathew Peters, and Quinn Gudaitis
  7. Kirsh is a thumber. 88-91 t92. There's some deception but not enough. The slider is fringe avg. The change is avg but it doesn't work well off his fastball so he gives up a lot of hard contact. The command is avg/above avg. See him on the right day and you could walk away thinking he's a back of the rotation starter but he doesn't have enough of those days because there's so little margin for error without an out pitch.
  8. Damn it! That's why you get paid the big bucks around here.
  9. Tim Elko and Jake Burger are remarkably similar. One could be named Jake Elko and the other Tim Burger.
  10. and a 3rd year JC guy. and there's another 3rd year JC guy.
  11. Levi Usher to the Royals. AlL time lottery ticket right there. He's got all the tools but can't play baseball.
  12. He better pay them 10K
  13. They took a college backup catcher?
  14. Watch them take Jacob Campbell. I'll be pissed. Draft and follows should be on day 3.
  15. Nate Peterson vs Tyler Schweitezer is going to be fun for me.
  16. Oh for christ sake and Nate Peterson goes one damn pick later!
  17. I don't get it. Every year they say they're gonna address the catcher position but they never do.
  18. Holy shit I was wondering why Matt Wood hasn't been drafted yet. I missed him going to the Brewers in the 4th. Here's a delayed DAMN IT!
  19. Houston took Blue Balls. 2 completley different pitchers when he's starting or relieving. Stuff plays up out of the pen. Meh
  20. Peyton Williams= Dan Vogelbach
  21. I'd say he has a little more Greg Hibbard to him.
  22. Ha ok. He's really interesting but the bat isn't ready. He has this big leg kick that he doesn't time up that leads to a lot of swing and miss. Great athlete (3 sport guy) above avg power potential good defender strong arm. Won't stay at SS but should stay on the dirt. He's also a great makeup kid but he has to go to college. Think Gio Urshela.
  23. Whoa! You know something I don't know?
  24. prosecky to the Rockies. Fastball and change guy. Has some deception but the breaking ball sucks.
