The Padres had 44,000 fans yesterday and are on pace to set a franchise attendance record. The Sox had 19,000 fans yesterday. A Tale of Two Franchises.
Really looking forward to seeing Ragans pitch tonight. Kid's been thru a lot and stayed positive the entire time. He's a wonderful story of work ethic and perserverance.
Adding the extra wild card team has made teams less aggressive just like eveyone said it would. Last years deadline was wild and this years is a giant popcorn fart.
Here's something I've come to figure out about the Sox FO. They decide what they're willing to offer in a trade or free agent signing instead of offering what it takes to get the deal done. They'll say we'll offer you this and when it gets turned down they'll say oh well we tried. They want deals on their own terms and aren't willing to do whatever it takes to get it done. This "strategy" is one of the main reasons why they're fighting for their playoff lives instead of being one of the best teams in the league in year thousand of the damn rebuild.
Preller pretty much got Taylor for free. Paddock is hurt and Pagan stinks. Upgrading to Hader with a couple prospects is a no brainer for a guy willing to drop his nut sack on the table.
