  1. https://theathletic.com/2537424/2021/04/23/initial-mlb-draft-league-rosters-underwhelm-longtime-scouts-it-looks-like-an-open-tryout-for-the-indy-leagues/ This league was going to be a disaster the minute they asked PBR to select the players. It's a bunch of day 3 guys and FA signs. Well done, Manfred.
  2. Did Grandal forget he had to catch that?
  3. Vaughn would be a Hawkaroo fav. Wimpy, he hits with short arms.
  4. Atta Boy, Nicky!
  5. He doesn't have a strong jaw, he has an awful baseball face and he buys his jeans at GapKids. Bench player here we come!
  6. It's simple scouting if you know what you're looking at and you don't need a certain number of games to scout a player. You evaluate the players tools and those tools translate to on the field production. It's obviously not perfect (nothing is) but I'll trust what I'm looking at a million times out of a million over some stat projection system.
  7. Get ready to hear where Nick Solak went to high school x1000.
  8. Did you see the bomb he hit last night? LSU twitter called it a Crews missile. That's good stuff.
  9. Of course not. He doesn't do anything to impact a game. He's not a difference maker. He doesn't hit for extra bases, he doesn't take extra bases and he doesn't take away hits. He's just a guy.
  10. I'm the opposite. His defense will be fine. No where near "elite" like the dopes LOVED to throw around but fine. His baserunning will also be fine but again no where near "elite." He's not a base stealer or a difference maker but he'll figure that out and stop running into stupid outs. The bat is a major concern because he's such a low impact hitter. He does zero damage and even hitting 9th a team can't afford to play a hitter who offers next to zero impact while the rest of his game is just average. He may get there different and people seem to love that but the end result is a boarderline league average second baseman.
  11. LAUNCH ANGLE!
  12. Old Prospector: How do you feel about Nick Madrigal’s long-term potential his unusual skill set? What about Luis Arraez? Kevin Goldstein: I really struggle with Madrigal and think he’s quite overrated by most prospect folks. He’s hitting .300 right now (which is real) and his OPS is just 737. Feels like he need to hit .330 to get to .800 and he’s just such an empty average hitter. Unique player, but not as valuable as some might think.
  13. How about my guy Jazz Hands. Dude's an electric factory.
  14. Big, if true.
  15. I've heard some pretty unbelievable things about Jackson Jobe. Right now I have him going 4 to Boston and that might be light. He's been incredible this spring. Guys are saying it's the best slider they've ever seen and he has a plus change and he sits in the mid 90's. He's a DUDE.
  16. Only three were hit over the fence.
  17. Hahahaha. The internet scouts are scaping the bottom of the barrel for colorful things to say. Big league guff.
  18. Pittsburgh doesn't deserve Leiter.
  19. Who could've ever seen this coming.
  20. Fangraphs is infallible.
  21. Good lord. Crochet is not developing as a pitcher. It's so bad they put him in this position.
  22. How many times. The guy never learns. Unbelievable.
  23. Holy shit Sam Hentges is in the show! Minnesota kid. Believe it or not he was a bad bodied lefty when he was drafted.
