  1. Hearing there's some crazy love for Brett Baty out there. Serious crazy love.
  2. Lodolo shoved against a hard hitting Texas Tech team last night. I guess we can put aside the he's fading down the stretch fears for now.
  3. You had me at Mendick. Men-Dick! Men-Dick! Men-Dick!
  4. Larry: Any word on Brady McConnell’s signability as a draft eligible soph? 1:32 Kiley McDaniel: Sounds like there’s interest in the comp/2nd round. Not that kind of guy for me, but Cadyn Grenier, Logan Davidson, McConnell, Tyler Fitzgerald, etc. the athletic college SS with offensive potential gets overdrafted usually What?!?!?!
  5. Vaughn going 1-1 would be a dream scenario.
  6. No that was never true. Someone somewhere said Jr had too much swing and miss so all the writers ran with it. Jr never had too much swing and miss. Not that Abrams hit tool is bad but he's not as advanced a hitter as Jr.
  7. He's suffering from being a very limited player. He has to end up in the Hall of Very Good to justify a pick this high and that's too much to put on any player regardless of how good his college bat may be.
  8. I'm still not going to let myself believe it.
  9. I didn't think it was possible for Benetti to get worse and yet here we are.
  10. I like Will Wilson. He's going to have to sacrifice some power and shorten his swing a little to make more consistent contact but he should be a solid up the middle player. The guy I really like is the catcher. He's going to be a dude next year. I'm surprised Alec Barger is geting knocked around as much as he is. He's got good stuff.
  11. It looks like the Fangraph boyz got their heads out of their butts. They finally moved Jr to 2 and Bleday to 3. They still have Vaughn ahead of Abrams but baby steps for these two.
  12. Law had him at 112 and I thought that was too high.
  13. If Rutschman and Vaughn go 1-2 they are taking Jr. The only way they would take Abrams is if Rutschman and Jr go 1-2. I still doubt it will happen but I would absolutely love it.
  14. All along I've thought Adley is clearly the best player in the draft but I'm starting to think it's Jr. The ball just explodes off his bat. This Kid has a chance to be really special.
  15. Washington lost again today. 8 games under and 7 out in a very difficult division and league. These guys are toast. Rizzo's going to blow this dumpster fire up. Get aggressive and get in there early.
  16. I don't think so. The next years class is always better but some injuries and under performances and it's just average and they lost a year of development on a player. Saying they're not enamored doesn't mean they don't like anyone but lets say they have similar grades on Hunter Bishop or Corbin Carroll as they do on a guy like Jackson Rutledge or Brett Baty. Why not take one of them and save $500k to spend later. I could definitely see them doing something like that.
  17. Agreed. It wouldn't surprise me if it's the Rangers as I've heard they're not enamored with anyone who they think will be there at #8. They may be looking to do something out of the box with that first pick to overslot guys at 41 and 50.
  18. The Sox could trade from their surplus of OF. Anyone of Gonzalez, Basabe or Rutherford would be more than fine. Throw in Fulmer or Hansen as a sweetener. Done and done.
  19. Washington is going nowhere and heading towards a firesale. Eaton would fill a massive hole in RF and the top of the lineup. He has two option years remaining at $9.5M and 10.5M and is healthy and playing well. I think they should bring him back.
