So the writers are finally on board with Abrams playing SS going forward. Welcome to the party, Pal!

That's still an awfully big chunk when you have 13 other players to sign. I think a more likely scenario would be pushing down a guy like Riley Greene for around $5M. Either way Zona is in the drivers seat and it's going to be interesting to see how they play it.

Sure they can Ricky Williams the draft though I'm not sure that would be the smartest use of their pool money. Maybe if there was a Bryce Harper/Ken Griffey Jr/A-Rod type player available. Adley is really good but he's not a generational talent.

He has a very projectable frame and will be working with professional weight trainers and nutritionists. I'm not concerned about him getting too big and losing a step. Don't over think this.

Exactly. He has a chance for 5 avg to plus tools. I prefer Jr's power potential over Abrams speed but if they did pick him I won't be the least bit upset. He's an exciting player.

2019 MLB draft thread
He has a very good chance to be a true 5 tool player. He's super athletic and he absolutely flies. He has an excellent chance to be an above avg SS, hit and hit for power. He's about as exciting a prospect as you can get...if you like that kind of thing (which I do).

Their paycheck says Fangraphs. They're writers.

Fangraphs Top 30 White Sox Prospects
Speed is simply how fast he can run like how raw power is simply how far can he hit a baseball. Base running ability is a separate grade.

GameThread: White Sox (Nova) @ Indians (Clevinger)
I would love Yolmer if he were used correctly as a super utility type player but on this dumbass team he's an everyday guy so I'm forced to hate him. It's much like my Nick Madgrigal hate. If he were a 2-3 round pick I'd like him but 4th overall makes me absolutely furious. Great. Now I'm pissed again.

He won't be. Every team in baseball has a Daniel Palka or two in their minor league system. Only the Sox are dumb enough to start him in RF.

When the team leaves Cleveland hopfeully they leave Palka behind. Preferably at the bottom of the river

Giolito thread
It's very rare for a pitcher to change his arm action. He's been throwing a certain way his entire life and to change that when you're 25 years old is extremely risky especially for a guy who has already had an arm surgery. He's going to put stress on muscles and ligaments that may not have had stress on them before. Obviously I hope it works out but I'm not sure he was at the point in his career where he had to make a major adjustment like this.

2019 MLB draft thread
I've never understood why this is considered a Kenny Williams thing. Every single team in baseball drafts multi-sport athletes. It's what scouts look for. I guess it gets hung on him because the Sox player development department is god awful and can't turn them into good players. Seems kinda silly when everyone in baseball is drafting the same players.
