March 31st 2019 White Sox vs. Royals

Can the White Sox avoid being swept this series?

Can the likes of Alonso & Palka avoid being nothing more than dead weights to the team?

Can Eloy prove himself worthy of the superstar money that Hahn decided to lavish upon him instead of going out and getting much needed free agent help?

For the answers to these questions and more, tune in today's game.

No chance.  Palka is an atrocious baseball player.

Not likely.  They are bad.

Alonso and Jay both became dead weights the second Machado signed with the Padres.  Palka is a DH but can’t fill the role because of Hahn’s stupid addition of Alonso.

Yes, Eloy will prove his worth.  However, Hahn likely won’t.

Palka will be fine and Insp still won't make any sense. This team is showing they can score runs but they need to regroup.  You have to take charge when you play the Royals. Coach Rikki time to lead the troops.

You had to figure a slow start with Jon Jay injured.

Maybe Gio will pitch well today and the Sox offense will look good, and everyone can overact the other way. Last year after 2 games, the Sox actually thought there was a possibility their rebuild was a lot farther along than they thought. Davidson was an MVP...

They are obviously going to suck, but I wouldn’t make any conclusions on individual players after 2 games.

Palka has a hard enough time proving his offensive value at DH unless he can OPS over .800.  Palka playing the outfield will make him a negative value player yet again.

Any warmer today there?

Looks pretty decent in the sunshine, 49 and sunny.

Hoping Rondon gets a shot at 2B today.

Outfield defense hilarity will ensue today.

Nope, never. Natural shortstops who can play any infield position and slug .500 in AAA don't deserve playing time.

If you're going to bad at something then you may as well be really good at it.

I think the Sox are playing Yolmer and hoping he hits so they can trade him.  He won’t be manning 2B for long with Madrigal around and he is getting too expensive for a bench player who can’t hit.  However, I do agree and would like to see what Rondon can do.

It’s the exact same defensive alignment as the first two games.

Last year, the Sox were the last AL team to lose a game. This year, the Sox are the last AL team to win a game. So I guess that means we're on our way to a 100 win season.

Let's go Giolito.

What’s your point?  It will likely be bad every game with that setup.

No. You should switch teams now to save yourself the inevitable pain and suffering.

White Sox:

0h for two,

And overdue.

Time for Giolito to out up or shut up.

Need to see much better command and ability to get outs from him.

Hopefully once Eloy starts raking we can get Alonso out of the 4th spot.

For fucks sake...give Rondon a start at 2B.  But nope gotta run Yolmer out there every day...maybe he will come up again in the 9th inning and provide another craptacular at bat just like the first 2 games of the series.

Giolito is PTC to quash a losing streak.  Who else?
