RPS, no one will believe this, but even you are a really nice guy and a good friend to know and one of the more fun people to hang with - how can I say, you're a good guy even though you are a Notre Dame fan - now that I have told your secret and ruined your reputation we can get back to normal
-
they just might finish 3rd - I was thinking that today
-
got you back - !! They were playing their baseball game when we got there and in my honor they had the Texas pitcher throwing at and beaning Royce Clayton they are good kids - cherish them - they will grow up too soon
-
didn't I leave your sons enough condoms to last a while?
-
hey HSC I enjoyed seeing your kids tonight!!! great kids, great Sox fans and I love watching them grow up. I sure hope the girls got out of there before you got home! They were cute though and your sons have good taste in loose women!

Not me. We had a few brews together. Lost her once we got in the park though. BJ, you need to tailgate with us some time. good times. If Steff was at the tailgate when I was and you did not introduce us, I will kick your Irish ass next time I see you! It was great seeing you RPS and the zachs and everyone on friday!!! We all get together too seldom. The best part of baseball is the friendships and good times and good memories!

I had the priviledge of meeting Mathew today and not only sitting with him for 9 innings at the cell but watching the NCAAs and dinner and driving aimlessly through the suburbs when I got lost - He is a really good guy, a hell of a good guy, really knows his stuff, and has charmed all of my friends - some of us know some others here, a lot of us don't know many people here personally, and Mathew is the first soxtalk.com member (who was not a member of the MLB boards) who I have met and I am very impressed with him. It will be good to read his his posts in the future and know what a really good and knowledgable person he is when I read them. He can post his story of how I had the ticket office set up for Mat from Canada on Friday - he thinks it is the most fan friendly park in the universe - We are going to tomorrow's game and then I return to Michigan and he to Canada and it has been a special treat to meet him this weekend. And you know the guy is a great guy when it turns out he too prefers the upper deck!!!!!!!! After all this niceness, please now return to all the bashing and insulting that we usually do - but it has added something special to me to meet another poster and know that we have some really good people here at soxtalk.com

I am f***ing sick and tired of the word gay or calling something homosexual that you don't like. It is hate speech - your right to say it is clear, but that includes your right to look like a homophobic idiot There are gay fans here, lay off the insults unless you want to use as a description for "bad" the term "teen age insecure straight white boys."

for what it is worth (which is nothing) I am really liking 50 cent's cd I'll be seeing him in concert this summer with Missy Elliott and Eminem, should be a great show
-
Sorry, White has to show me what he can do for us yet - each player has to show they belong - I was not happy with the 0yh inning walk but was happy with a 3-batters and out 9th- if he earns it the love will come -

I will of course actually go the game RPS! Give me a hi from the broadcast and I'll wave to you! -
RPS, thinking is not your strong point! After about an hour I tunred into to 1000 and heard them talking about a clearing tat was coming so we knew the game would be played - at least that is what we told the one guy in our group who wanted to leave, telling him no way I have never been rained out! I refuse to accept rain! The thunder sounded awesome as it resonated through the upper deck concourse!
-
by the way the new scoreboard and the other new stuff is awesome - I loved it so much! The graphics and all are great and when they really figure out how to use it, should be incredible! The new colors all worked too! It was so good to be home!

The name of the song is Kiss Him Goodbye by the way - smoke on the water? great song but the 60s are over! If a theme song arises, it will arise just as Kiss Him Goodbye did, not because it was selected but because it catches on I'd look at every team between us and the World Series championship and sing Ludicris's "Move b****, Get out the way!"

I strongly differ on the upper deck comments. It is a great place to watch the game - I feel on top of the action, not a million miles away as I do in the outfield seating - I have never seen a kid fall ever and that is where my season tickets are - saw a few inebriated people stumble and have seen people assist those with disabilities but some of my friends parents go and they are in their 70s and they love it up there. Great place to watch a game, everything is far more convenient than downstairs (restrooms, concessions, gift shop) and we have a lot of fun up there. They have installed new lights and other changes to fit the other changes made at the park but still have some painiting to do -

oh, it wasn't picked by anyone - Nancy started playing it one day at a game as basically a throw away song during the noise/cheering for a home run and it just caught on spontaneously - it really was a thing that came by accident
-
I thought it was later 70's. I know it was picked as the theme by the south side hitmen in 77. never question me on music! The song was an oldie by the time Nancy Faust started playing it in 77. I have the orginal album - the lead singer of Steam did not sing the song, it was a guest vocal - 71 is my best guess for year it came out. Right now I am in Chicago (Glenview) and far from home but if this thread is still around on Sunday night whem I get home, I can post more info.
-
I know I didn't - left the ticket at will call but with the way things were there was no way to know if he ever got the ticket, I don't think he ever got to the seats - by game time we moved down to the usual place and I kept looking for Mathew but never found a wandering Canadian - if you have him, please call me on my cell - I am in Glenview and have no idea how long I can be on this computer so I can't keep checking here for messages - oh Mathew I hope you are out there!
-
just got back to my home away from home and the two hour wait with all the thunder and lightening and rain was done purely by faith - I have never been rained out since I first went to Comiskey in 1966 and I wasn't going to give up today! attendance paid was 40,3something but I don't know if there were 15,000 at game time - by that time all the lines were short and the game was great and it never got any colder and what a fun time we had - only die hards were there at the first pitch the fans who were there were really into it and was one of the more fun opening days that I have ever been to! anyone who left before the game

Steam early 1970s - 70 or 71 one hit wonders
-
there is no "point" and yes if the team flounders and flounders then a change needs to be made - I think it is way too early to thgink we've reached the point of anything except maybe our players need to know, have learned, that no one is going to give them anything and they need to go out and earn their victories.
-
I don't know that JM is on a short leash, I am not privy to the inside thoughts of KW and JR. .02% of the season has been played it wasn't JM who made the errors or gavce up the big hits the players did and either we all over rated them or they will respond like the professionals that they are paid to be
-
all the hot firey managers haven't been winning world series - this isn't a make for tv movie where the coach comes in and gives a win one for the gipper speech and everyone goes rah rah and runs out and wins the big game the hotter the light the quicker it burns out the players are all professionals and need to look insaide themselves a 3 game losing streak will happen in any championship year it really hurts when it starts a season that we have such expectations for but panic and change everything after 3 games is not leadership, it is - panic.
-
bulls***. Fire a manager after 6 games? I'm not happy with the way this game has gone. It sounds like the players need to look insides themselves right now.
-
what inning? score?
