best thing for him at this time, he'll get much more work there than as our major league #5, and we will see him pitch in the bigs this year. -no doubt.

Yep, that is the way that I see the thinking as being, with no comment on my opinion of said thinking

when you become a media mogul, will you have room for me as the leader of focus groups in your empire?????? Lol, sure we will Vince. I am holding you to that - and at a decent salary and benefits packages and perks too! One thing I can do is run a focus group!

There's a reason this is his last article for CNNSI....he says he's going somewhere....but, save a few morons, everyone knows he got the can. for what it is worth my South dakota friend, I think the moron is the one who called us morons. I'm with you. We all start the season 0-0. They do no start 13.5 games ayhead of us, but even. While we have to play them to beat them, we start out even and they get no bonus points from last season. We've made moves, they've made moves, we are certainly a legit contender, it is asnine to consider anyone a moron for picking the Sox. Now if someone picked Detroit or KC, then the moron tag might come out.

It was inevitable Paul would stay. Right or wrong, I've tried to tell you that all spring training. Miles or Burke comes up for our first call up when injury happens.

all sports have been covered in these shows, yes? so why the frustration at Matthew I do not understand. I have been pissed off by any cubs talk but have been told that is required in these all sports shows. So why blow at Matthew? The reason escapes me. Could it be because there is no professional level hockey being played in Chicago this year? Go Red Wings! It has to be disappointing that the recap of the Chicago hockey season is losses and players at strip clubs drining and fighting. But on the bright side, the Sharks fired Pulford's son in law so he may be coming on board the B Hawks. That is something to discuss! If Cubs baseball, baskletball at all levels, football - Bears and at all levels - stays posted on this board as part of the radio shows, then the hockey should stay too, eh? If hokcey goes, all of the others must go too for they are not WS baseball.

I will repost the essential part of my post that has thus far been unntoiced by the last two paragraphs that I sjhoudl not have included as it took away from my main point: Read the full message that starts this thread. It includes the line "Because an honest, God-fearing Republican sits in the White House." The unidentified sourse of this email chain letter may not be a Republican National Committe, it may be from one of the right wing religious groups that identifies God's will as that of the Republcan Party. And that is what is so freaking wrong and dangerous about these this type of thinking. Carter and Clinton are both people of deep faith. So I understand is the current Bush. But this type of think denies the faith of a Carter or Clinton - or me, the Pope, the head of the National Council of Churches, Bushs own United Methodist Church, the head of the United Church of Christ, the Christian Reformed Church, etc., because it does not comply with a certain political agenda. It proclaims the faith of Bush because it does comport with a certain political agenda. That is a grave diservice to God, to people of faith, and as off-base as those who would identify the political policies of a bin laden or an Ayatollah as being in accord with God's will. No political agenda or ideology can claim such special status. The best any of us can do is struggle with the demands of faith as how we apply it to life in reality. People of faith may in good conscience disagree, but for one group to claim that it has the will of God and anyone who opposes it opposes the anointed servant of God is treading on very frightening ground. The type of thinking that was used to start this thread is very dangerous let alone disingenuious.

to you and Steff and others, yes you have, my reply was to kipwellsfan who thinks it seems that I am a black hole or something. And Steff, I am experiencing all kinds of dimensions to your thoughts that I find fascinating. It is a real plus when we get past one dimensional cyber speech and discover the nuances and complexities and fullness of other's thinking. My appreciation and repsect grows daily.

The reference to South Africa was to South Africa. Apartheid fell with the most minimal violence imaginable and from DeKlerk to Nelson Mandela there was peaceful transfer of the presidency, a new constitution, the Peace and Reconciliation commission, Mandala has served and SA accomplished peaceful transition to his successor. I guess the hahahahahahhahahahhahha is one you for not knowing the history of the specific referance made. Put the doobies down and do a little school work and learning, my friend.

This is the part of the inteview that upset me: DL: Number of times a week you're told you look like Eminem. MB: None. By the way, I have two tattoos and 2 piercings (ear). And I am not a slut. Just in case anyone wants to know.

And as well I note, just from reading the Chicago Tribune, the Charlie Daniels sent out an email blasting those who oppose the war. An employee at a radio station responded to Charlies Daniels in opposition to his views, and that employee was fired. So much for who is zooming who. As well, the Tribune also reported that Clear Channel, the corporation that owns more radio stations than anyone else in this country, has been sponsering pro-war demonstrations in various media markets. At the same time, Clear Channel is trying to push through regulation changes at the FCC that will allow it to own more radio stations and further dominate the US radio market. The chair of the FCC is Michael Powell, son of Colin Powell. Again, who is zooming who here. CK, I await your condemnation of Charlies Daniels and Clear Channel.

doesn't matter at all who picks who. the games will be played in real life and that is all that matters.
-
agreed all the way.

no, they do not authorise war. That is just spin. If 1441 was all sufficient the US and Britain would never have needed to offer a second resolution. 1441 was the first part of a proposed two-step process and it was understood when 1441 was passed that it did not allow for actual invasion.

Apu more than holds his own. I guess I can cease posting since evidently my posts have been unread. I thought I held my own too but I guess not, evidently not even been read. So - see ya.

there have many alternatives suggested, beginning with ending sanctions and flooding Iraq with humanitarian aid and doing all things to strengthen the voice of dissent in Iraq. Another was ongoing with the inspections. There have been many others discussed on the these baords and elsewhere. Check out, as has been suggested, Soujourners on the internet, or MoveOn, or elsewhere. I am not going to do your homework for you. Plenty of despotic regimes have fallen in the world without war - try the Shan in Iran and all of Estern Eurpoe and the Soviet Union as well as the very limited violence in South Africa. The burden is not on those opposed to war; the burden is on those who support war because we have so many examples of how change happens without war.

that doesnt mean they are connected, he just let someone use his land for some big time cash probally. Isn't that enough of a connection? I don't think anyone is claiming that Saddam personally planned 9/11. if there is a camp. you take out the camp, not go to war against the whole country. Should we have bombed the whole United States because there were places where Timothy McVeigh got training?
