Sunday's Matchup
Well, the Scrubs are thinking about not having number 22 pitch a rehab game, but putting right back into action against us on Sunday. Aim for the elbow, boys!

Good News for Our Out of Towners
The Score is announcing that they will start on line streaming tomorrow, so next year our out of town friends will be able to hear the 16 spring training games as well as the regular season of course. I can hear it now: "The World Champion White Sox are on the air!"

Observation
The Couch article is dead wrong on at least one point. Reinsdorf did not want the new Comiskey Park built where it was. He wanted it in Addison. This is pretty much common knowledge, and was even back then. The State Legislature, led by Pate Phillips, refused to allow this, and mandated the new ball park's location.

White Sox vs Dodgers 6/19/05 Game Thread
QUOTE(WSoxMatt @ Jun 19, 2005 -> 08:29 AM) Weaver is 5-5 career vs the SOX ERA 3.67 81 IP 68 H 33 ER 20 BB 33 Ks Career vs Weaver... Dye .291 (9-31) Everett .333 (2-6) Konerko .250 (6-24) Timo .000 (0-2) AJ .310 (9-29) Podsednik .600 (3-5) Thomas .217 (5-23) No one else has faced Weaver! I'm remembering that Weaver was the guy who started the beanball battle between the Sox and the Tigers in 2000. He hit Carlos Lee, IIRC, and was in the middle of the battle royale that followed Parque's retaliation. So, for old time's sake, how can I put this?? Oh yeah, f*** JEFF WEAVER!

Frank has a new fan
QUOTE(That funky motion @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 07:02 AM) of coarse I go to the bathroom in that in. Of coarse they were packed and you could barely hear the radio. So everyone is quiet and Frank jacked one out. That has happened to me twice this year with Frank. I will now go to the bathroom everytime Frank comes up and we need some runs!! We'll all be thinking of you.

What's the record for stolen bases in a game?
There's also baseball etiquette involved here too. If your leadoff guy is getting on enough in a game to steal 4 or 5 bases, there's a pretty good chance your team is comfortably ahead. To keep stealing in that situation late in the game tends to piss off the opposition, to the point that someone may get drilled. So people don't keep stealing, by and large, in that situation, because it becomes an individual glory kind of thing that can rebound against the team. Plus, if you break a finger with a head first slide on your attempt to steal base number 7, you got a huge problem with your own team. I think the record is safe.

Frank has a new fan
QUOTE(knightni @ Jun 18, 2005 -> 06:48 AM) Gotta get back over 1.000 in OPS. Hall of Fame voters might be biased against him because he is primarily a DH. Frank may not be a first ballot enshrinee, but he is a certain Hall of Famer. His combination of stats - walks, rbis, runs, hrs, career batting average - cannot be ignored.

JB on fire!
James Baldwin, back in the bigs with the Orioles, has this line going: 7.1 innings 2 hits no runs no walks 6 strikeouts. Other than that, he's sucked.

Sox won't be adding an everyday starter
I agree. I think we should try to strengthen the pen. Guardado for my money.

Paulie is on FIRE!
QUOTE(YASNY @ Jun 16, 2005 -> 01:13 AM) Six of those 12 games of Paulie's streak were without Frank in the line up. Don't try to bring facts into this!!!!

Sox luck out again for the Dodgers series...
Houlton pitched real well vs. Minny on Sunday. Big righty.

White Sox possibly looking at Sean Burroughs
Prior to our San Diego series, I had no opinion on Burroughs. Now, I think he's a total dog, and with an attitude to match. I'd be stunned if we traded for him.

Ken Griffey Jr?
Bold move? Get Guardado. Somehow, someway.

How about Scott Eyre?

Sox Fan on the Bears
I heard an interview last night on the Score. Mike Brown is a huge Sox fan. He grew up in Arizona, a couple of years younger than Konerko. He said Paulie was a stone cold killer in high school baseball. He said he likes the Sox because they are a blue collar group of hustlers, who don't get the props the way our north side assclowns do. He really went on and on, loves baseball, calls it the sport of failure, cause if you go 3 for 10, etc. So Brooks - Mike Brown for first ball duty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
