  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 13, 2009 -> 02:59 PM) I like to remember the 06 Cardinals by recalling the complete ass whoopin the Sox put on them early in the year That was indeed a good time. I was at the game they scored 20+ against Marquis.
  2. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 12, 2009 -> 03:19 PM) Could definitely become his best, no doubt. The dumbass horse for Pods is the best imo at this moment, just because it accomplished so much. Hey now! Watch what you say about El Caballo! While it was a beneficial trade for the Sox to get Pods that year, Carlos put up very nice #'s with us, and continues to rake in Houston. He had his moments on the basepaths and in domes.... but the man gave us good memories, especially one of the best finishes to a Sox/Cubs game in the history of the series. (walk off grand slam) In any case, my fav moves by KW ---> Ozzie ---> Getting Jenks ---> Signing Dye to a 2 year ---> Rios (although 28, he still has a lot to prove, hopefully he hits his prime with us) Go Sox!
  3. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 9, 2009 -> 11:45 AM) bumped Looks awesome, thanks!
  4. Sorry if this is obvious, but does anyone know if someone created a June 09 calendar. My May one is 9 days old, and I just realized it I couldnt use the search since its always disabled, if it has been created, could someone throw me a link to it?
  5. Very Nice work!! I also prefer the old calendar format of having all the open dates in, but looks very nice!
  6. How about 3 ducksnorts here, give them their own medicine from last week!
  7. I havn't posted here in a while, but this seems like a silly post. If you are a Sox fan, you dont give up on your team when they are STILL in 1st place! I dont think I could have said this a couple years ago, but if your to the point where you cant stomach watching the Sox play a baseball game, you need a new hobby. Life moves on win or lose. Watch the game, root for your team, and hopefully we'll be watching them in October! Go Sox :-)
  8. QUOTE(Beastly @ Jun 23, 2007 -> 01:08 PM) I thought I saw Terrero get in there before the tag, but hey, I could be wrong. Fields should have been running home as it was. If Uribe hit that grounder it would have been a double play anyway. I thought he got the foot in there too. Theriot taged him real late, but I guess it was a benefit of the doubt play.
  9. So Pods is off the DL today?? Who is getting sent down? Anyone have a link on this?? These are the things I need to know.
  10. This is more of a question due to my girlfriend wanting to see more games when Pods is back. So hurry on back Prancer!
  11. Anyone know if he's coming back tonight? He's played in 8+ minor league games, I was thinking it would be tonight, esp with the DH spot back.
  12. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 06:40 PM) Beautiful day in Chicago today. Low 90's high, sunny skies right now. I wonder which way the wind is blowing. Its windy as hell here in the burbs.
  13. QUOTE(AssHatSoxFan @ Apr 17, 2007 -> 07:48 AM) they played Illinois at the United Center in one of the first years I believe That is correct. I sat in the nosebleeds for that one, Frank Williams missed a 3 at the buzzer and they lost by 3.
  14. I dont think there is anyway that they don't have that field in playing condition by the time we roll into town on Friday. I believe the worst they will get is rain on Wednesday, so they should be good to go. I think the worst part of this is we have to face 2 teams for their home openers, however, obviously, Cleveland didnt seem to have a problem with us on ours.
  15. I wonder what pitcher/catcher combo will be humiliated this year when Pauly succesfully steals on his 1 attempt. :-)
  16. Although I havnt posted in quite a while, I'm always good for this. Go Illini!
  17. QUOTE(witesoxfan @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 08:36 PM) Are you friggin kidding me? Cintron, career .272 hitter, .727 OPS...hitting .269, .647 this year. While that OPS is actually bad, it's 86 points better than Uribe, and in the long run, I'd have to imagine Cintron's would be nearer .700-.725. If Mackowiak is out there killing this team with his defense to push BA, then I have no problem with Cintron at SS pushing Uribe...atleast Cintron is respectable at SS, opposed to Mack who is friggin dreadful in CF. I don't think we're pushing Uribe aside, I think we're rather hoping Uribe picks it up with the stick. Everyone of us has seen first hand what the man can do with a glove, but defensive specialists are bench players. If you want to start, you have to be able to hit too. (and for the record, Cintron would have to go 0 for his next 32 to be at Uribe's average) Haha, thank you for doing the math.... Ill officially shut up now, I just love Uribe!
  18. QUOTE(Tannerfan @ Jun 7, 2006 -> 03:45 PM) Dude the difference between 200 and 270 is huge. One would think if you were comparing everyday players, but considering he's about 3 or 4 0-4's that would slide it back down to where Uribe is. My point is, try not to slob over someones knob because of one huge hit and just simply forget about what Uribe has meant to this ballclub the past couple of years.
  19. Although Uribe is my favorite Sox player, so forgive me if I sound biased here. And I do love what Cintron can bring to the table, but theres no way we forget about what Uribe's defense can do for a pitching staff that still hasnt found its groove. Granted that he's barely hitting over .200, Cintron is barely .270 himself. Its not that big of an offensive upgrade. I personally love Cintron's role right now, he's such a great clutch hitter, and can play 2B/SS/3B, I would much rather see him as a spot player and leave Uribe starting as SS.
  20. It was an amazing catch, I saw it live and I got off my seat in amazement, which is rare for being on the couch at home. Without a doubt, that may be play of the year when its all said and done. I still thought a couple of band-aids would have done the trick for him to stay in the game though :-) Oh, I forgot to add this in, just check the phillies mlb site tonight, they will definitly post this one right after the game im sure as a video clip.
  21. Ahh, and now I see a 17 page on Haeger.... Somebody hit me over the head, I was looking for a Contreras on DL type headline. Sigh... it must be Monday.
  22. QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 8, 2006 -> 05:08 PM) Unless he is moving permanently to the rotation, leave B-Mac in the pen. He is not ready to start and we need him out there. Yeah, thats probably a good point. I suppose being that it is temporary, you cant just throw him one way and then back to the pen. Ok....Im convinced easily.
  23. Why is Haeger getting the start over McCarthy. Is it simply McCarthy's arm isnt ready to pitch more than 60-65 pitches? I personally think McCarthy should pitch about that pitch count and then bring in Haeger for long relief if need be. It doesnt sound like Jose will be gone all that long, 2 starts I'm thinking right now, but for the benefit of winning, I would hate to throw in a guy that has no MLB experience if we have someone ready just for this situation right here.
