Whatever search they are doing for the new TV PBP job, it would be such a classic white sox organizational move to sign the new individual to only a one year contract ( coinciding with 2024 being the final year of the team’s deal with NBC Sports Chicago), then decide in 2025 that the television broadcast will be a simulcast of the radio broadcast. I do hope Len isn’t the next one to bolt, whether to Detroit or elsewhere, including the northside team whenever Pat retires. I only wish he would adapt more to radio style PBP, especially with repeating the count ahead of the next pitch (i.e. “here’s the 2 and 1 pitch to Vaughn” instead of his habit formed “the pitch”). That aside, I do like Len’s overall call of the game on the ESPN 1000 Hardrock Casino whitesox Network.

Mike Monaco would seemingly be good. Other name ideas I may not mind include Andy Masur, Connor McKnight, and my wildcard, Joe Brand.

If continuing to follow one team makes your love or interest of a sport unenjoyable or miserable, what sense does it make to prolong such feelings because of manmade rules for a game. Do you and don’t worry about manmade “fandom rules”, most of which are of meatball mentality.

Kudos for getting a professional broadcaster to fill in. Broadcast sounds great so far. All the best to Jason. Hoping he recovers soon and is back in the booth with Stoney.

Every game is important this season. Teams that fall into a slump this year... too bad for them. Nothing fair or unfair about that. Those are the parameters this year. It's either that or no ball. Let's hope the parameters pose enough advantages that our Sox can take advantage of. It would be nice to be excited for baseball come October.

Masur is a pro. I think this will be a major league upgrade for the radio broadcast.
