It's so sad seeing these places I know and love being destroyed. My apartment (Iowa City) is in the 500 year plain and I am also under mandatory evacuation. My dad and I were going to rent a truck two weekends ago to get all my stuff, the truck wasn't available so we had to wait til Saturday. By then there was no way to get into IC. All I can do is hope and pray that too much of my s*** doesn't get destroyed.
