  8. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 21, 2008 -> 03:04 PM) Life's a Hustle. There's quite a few people calling for both Barta and Ferentz's heads. And they should be
  9. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 20, 2008 -> 05:37 PM) There's a little more evidence here than they had at Duke. The alleged victim is a student/athlete herself, so here credibility is probably a little higher. This is a program that has had legal problem after legal problem. It needs to be cleaned up. At least put Ferentz on a short rope. If he or anyone else had anything to do with trying to cover up a rape, I hope they can and will be charged with something criminal, and they all lose their jobs. If he's just an innocent bystander, its time he take resposibility for all the jackasses he's bringing in to Iowa City. At least when other schools had a team of criminals they won, and I say that in jest. The arrests need to stop. There's no doubt in my mind Iowa City police are targeting footballl players and basketball players, so they will just have to get by with obeying the law. If they can't, there should be zero tolerance, and if the behavior continues, the zero tolerance needs to extend to the people responsible for bringing them to town. It's definitely true. The two guys were considered "not in good standing" the weekend that it occurred. No one was quite sure what was going on but there were immediate rumors that the worst was happening. As for the turning recruits into stars thing, pretty much every recruit that's come out of Iowa started as a 1-3 star. It hasn't been since the last 3 years that arrests have been increasing ten-fold as recruit numbers went up. Apparently there was a big flare up in the 06-07 season when hotshot recruits came in acting like they were priveleged because of how many stars were next to their name while starters weren't so great (note: This is seen as a large part of the reason Drew Tate was so angry at everyone that year, the youngsters were on starter's asses because they were cocky). As a former student who has a deep love for the University and town, I saw the otherside of the coin and decided to bolt early. Iowa City is a wonderful weekend, however, you can find yourself in alot of trouble time and time again. Some people are able to avoid those situations, some aren't. Unfortunately, I dont think hotshot football players are usually logical enough to avoid them. Oh and City Boyz Inc 4 life.
  10. It hit him square in the knee, hopefully its just a bone bruise and JD will be back sometime next week
  11. QUOTE (ChiSox35 @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 07:21 PM) There is no reason for what's taking place on WSCR right now. I don't care if it was Rice or Favre, let alone the idiot kicker. What's going on?
  12. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 19, 2008 -> 05:26 PM) Has the feel of a game where we're going to need 2 or 3 homers to win, which is possible with all the high fastballs that Meche throws. Lots of sliders up as well
