QUOTE (MexSoxFan#1 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 10:21 PM) I dont want to see Javy,Dye,Konerko,Thome and AJP in a sox uni next season, lets move away from if we dont homer we dont score BS... I don't know why people are lumping Thome in with the garbage right now. If we got rid of AJ, the effects would be seen immediately to our staff.

Walk Span?

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 10:20 PM) Shouldn't it be 1-2 on Punto? BTW, feel free to catch the ball AJP. I'm with you.

Where was that?

Sticking with Bobby, why not?

QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 10:13 PM) I cannot remember the last time Dye got a hit. SERIOUSLY. 4th inning.

Yeah, don't swing.

Game's fixed.

Just saw Span's triple. Konerko was holding the runner on and still couldn't stop that?

I can't watch because I will be at work. Will have walkman hidden though.

An anonymous clubhouse insider told the Seattle Times that Mariners teammates were so annoyed with Ichiro Suzuki earlier this season that they considered beating him up. "I just can't believe the number of guys who really dislike him," said the insider. "It got to a point early on when I thought they were going to get together and go after him." The coaching staff and then-manager John McLaren intervened when one player was overheard talking about wanting to "knock him out." Perhaps the goal would have been to knock him around like the rest of the league has done to Carlos Silva this year, but given Mariners' hitters reputations, it's likely that the team could land several blows and still not do any damage. It's not as though Richie Sexson had a chance of making contact. Sep. 25 - 1:28 pm et

QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Sep 25, 2008 -> 09:33 AM) Griffey's home run yesterday was meaningful. But other than that, he's been like everybody else -- nothing special. biggest killer was uribe failing to get the runner home from third with less than two outs. next was Wise failing with the bases loaded. next was Dye doing nothing. next was Konerko's extremely negative body language, dropping his head every time he rolls out or pops out. I believe Gavin started the one game we won in Minny. Take the positives anywhere you can get them. It seems to me that Griff has been the only one man enough since he got here, to get an rbi hit with 2 outs. BA should play for Dye for a day, not Jr.

QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) Too early to start this thread. Play by the rules or the Sox lose. The last two days, the threads have followed the rules, how did that turn out? I MAKE THE RULES NOW! GAGE WHO?

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 08:59 PM) Swisher will be playing for Wise. Nick seems pissed. He just walked to the clubhouse after he was PR'd for

QUOTE (Friend of Nordhagen @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:50 PM) Not true. Ozzie's the one who told them they needed a lead of more than 3 before they got here. That's not a winner's mentality. Actually, it is true. He ranted about we needed to come in here and kick their butts. I think he said something about poisoning the water for the pirhanas. They guy can only say so much to light a fire under these corpses.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 08:48 PM) The whole organization has bowed down to the Twins in the Metrodome. I thought they would win 2, but they will not win tomorrow if they keep praising them. Its time to knock someone on their ass, and act like you're the team in first place. Exactly. The mentality is crap. They are intimidated by an tangible object. Ozzie tried to get them in the right frame of mind and motivate them but the only guys responding are Jr. and Thome, and now Buehrle.

Alexei going down fighting.

That was the first time I saw that play at 2nd. That s*** wasn't even close.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:27 PM) I just don't feel it at all with this team. 2006 was more heartbreaking than this is shaping up to be. SCOTT LINEBRINK SHOULD NOT BE PITCHING IN A BIG SITUATION! If at any point the last 2 weeks, we won 3 in a row, that is it, three games in a row, this series would be irrelevant. Agree on Scott.

QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:26 PM) Our offense laying an egg in April and May because its cold and how they are pressing and not loosey goosey. Now its September, and they are back to pressing. And they are cold again. The offense is to blame this year more than anything. If we had a mediocre offense, that was less homer reliant. We clinch last week. It's obvious the air conditioner is on to cold in the dome.

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 24, 2008 -> 09:24 PM) Will you lose much sleep if this team misses the playoffs? I honestly don't think I will. I know you are a Sox fan, but I would question that if that was the case.
