Controlled Chaos

This was my post yesterday in another thread...I think it fits here better... Last year from 6/6 to 7/6 we played 29 games and won 22 of them. This included some tough games against Detroit, Texas, the World Series Cardinals, the prior World Series Astros and a heated rivalry with the Cubs. I think they have this kind of run in them again. Nothing is clicking right now. This is not blind optimism. We had pitching click early on. We have some hitting as of late, but the pitching has dropped off. When both things get on track we can make a nice run, especially with our upcoming schedule. The season isn't over. Sit back relax and strap it down!!

The one positive of the night is MB. Great game. Hopefully all the starters follow suit.

It was moving out of the way when you hear a teammate call it. Only it wasn't his teammate it was a bush league player that is desperate to show us all that money has nothing to do with class.

These are all cases of someone not getting the job done so they try to cheat instead. It's just a personal preference I guess. If you didn't get it done...you didn't get it done....take your lumps I'm definitely not in the "if you're not cheating, you're not trying" club.

I think it's total bush league and when Uribe did it to Derek Lee, I thought that as well.

So does mac have to 3-1 to every batter he faces?

I use almost the same post everytime this stuff comes up... I think managing takes a little bit of smarts. Not just baseball smarts, but educational smarts. When it comes to thinking, Ozzie will fail everytime. He has no education. It's not his fault...he is just an uneducated man. He is a a fun baseball guy, and played the game well, but logic?? smarts?? educated decisions?? not so much. He was raised, not in a classroom, but on a ball field. Does that equate to being a good manager? I don't think so. I think it takes more than that. Playing the righty righty lefty lefty matchup doesn't take a whole lot of brains, but knowing how your lefty handles rightys or vice versa might take some thinking or studying. This is where Ozzie is sorely lacking. "I swear to God, you can put me in Harvard, you can put me in any college in (the) United States, and you ask me a question, I will answer..." yes Ozzie you will answer...you will be wrong of course, but yes you will answer. Big deal. A 4 year old can answer wrong. What you need to do is work on getting it right!!
