  1. http://www.baseballamerica.com/today/2005afl/roster_ps.html According to this it's Fields Sweeney Valido Tracey Two more spots TBA -- I assume one is Reynoso. BHAM, can you chime in on Sweeney's status?
  2. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) Konerko failed to catch the liner that WAS foul. Then he sat there and didn't go pick up the ball. The relay throw came to Konerko who dropped the ball AGAIN and thus Rodriguez scored from first. I don't care if it was a bad call, Konerko had two chances on that play to get him out. Not only this, but when we lose this game, and the excuses come out. Let's remember the offense failed to score more than 1 run.
  3. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 02:12 PM) When was the last time we saw 4 straight outings like this? 31.2 IP 3 ER out of the starters!!! :cheers :cheers I guarantee when you find it, we were 4-0 on that stretch.
  4. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:53 PM) How intimidated would you be if you were pitching to Blum, Crede and Timo? I'd throw underhand to the second two.
  5. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:48 PM) Hit and run was on?? Yeah. It had to be.. Lecroy swings at a pitch at his eyes, and Morneau was running.
  6. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:46 PM) DP TIME!!! Unconventional, but I'll take it.
  7. Silva, First three innings: 52 pitches 4th inning: 8 5th inning: 9
  8. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) I'd hope so, otherwise Uribe will strike out on a ball 15 feet off the outside edge. Uribe -- 62K in 354 ABs = 17.5% Iguchi -- 90K in 392ABs = 23% Which one should we be complaining about striking out too much?
  9. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:50 PM) Let's hit & run with Uribe now. there it was
  10. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:30 PM) Did I hurt your feelings? You just cant compare certain numbers of players in 2 different roles. Its like saying Crede is a better hitter than PODs because his power numbers are better. Iguchi serves a purpose in his role, and his RISP BA is not going to be high. But there is no doubt in my mind that he is the most complete hitter on our team with his ability to hit with power to all fields. If it makes you feel better I can say that Ozzie shouldnt have taken out Iguchi who is a superior hitter to Timo. Better? Look, you called him the best hitter on the team. There were no qualifiers to that statement. I challenged the statement. you didn't like it, and have since put all sorts of stipulations on it. You didn't hurt my feelings. Iguchi is league average hitter. I take umbrage to him being called our best hitter. He is not our savior. That is all.
  11. Since we're now speaking in terms of fruit. You shouldn't have called Iguchi the best fruit then. It was your open ended statement that garnered the response for a reason. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:19 PM) hmmm wonder why ozzie would call Iguchi his MVP?? Ozzie's a fricken genius. Need any proof look at the OBPs of our #1&2 hitters today. Need more proof, listen pretty much anytime he opens his mouth.
  12. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 11:45 AM) Yeah, plus he is our best hitter. Its kind of like the decision to PH our worst hitter (timo) for iguchi in a very crucial spot in the game *cough Ozzie cough* When did Iguchi become our best hitter? He is batting a WHOPPING 6 points higher than Konerko. What about his clutch stats, you know the thing that Konerko gets bashed so much for? Iguchi's batting ROBUST .237 w/RISP. He strikes out at a higher rate than any of our other hitters. Walks less than Konerko, and hits for less power than Konerko. Tell me again, How is this guy 'our best hitter?'
  13. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) So BMac posts on this site since 2003? Obviously I am clueless around here if that is true :banghead Yes, it's true. Last year, we had a chat with "The Legendary Baj" -- I think that should be abbreviated from now on. TLB™ is Baj's new nickname/short hand. -- and Brandon came online to hassle him. Brandon missed the time, so I was the only one in the Chat, but he was nice enough to chat with me for about 10 minutes.
  14. The reason is simple, we win when that banner is up. We were 1-7 or something like that with the last banner. We've been really bad ever since this banner got taken down. So it was brought back.
  15. QUOTE(ChWRoCk2 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 01:22 AM) im i gettin a vibe that you think you are bmac, or am i just drunk and havent been on for so long that i have no understanding to what has been happening lately No, he doesn't think he's BMac. That is BMac. Kick ass and take names your next start!
  16. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:18 AM) Crede gets a hit how much more often than Bellhorn does? Maybe 1 more hit out of every 30 at bats? the White Sox aren't a small ball team right now, having base runners with a team that only produces runs by the way of the home run would be ideal. Would you say that Crede gets to about 1 in 30 more balls than Bellhorn? I would say that's a conservative estimate. How long does it take for belhorn to get 30 plate appearences? On this team it will take him 8 games. -- Over those 8 games how many more hits do you think Crede would wipe out on defense over Bellhorn? Simply put, Crede>Bellhorn, despite what the numbers may say.
  17. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:07 AM) Cheat, I don't know how much stock you put into 'mgl', but didn't he say that UZR had Bellhorn at about average defensively at second? Or, slightly above? It's the best thing out there, but it's underground now. The only thing you'll be able to find on the net is 2000-2003 data. Not exactly useful.
  18. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 25, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) False. They chanted "Pokey" for no other reason that he would come late in games in key situations after replacing him defensively with runners on base and he would promptly end the inning ala Mark Bellhorn of 2005. Bulls***. Pokey was a folk hero last season.
  19. QUOTE(redandwhite @ Aug 24, 2005 -> 11:32 PM) I couldn't care less about this positive urine sample; as a person, I see no reason to respect the guy, period. So wait, you worship roid abusers. Yet, have no respect for Lance? :headshake
