  1. QUOTE(bogie @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:39 PM) VALIDO IS ONE OF THE PLAYERS PARTICIPATING I don't know if that is a good idea given the way he tanked last season, and the way he appears to be wearing down again this year.

  3. QUOTE(farmteam @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:37 PM) I think they'll send Gio, Young, Malone, Rogo, Sweeney, and Fields. That list is probably way off, but oh well. Sweeney is supposedly going under the knife after the season. Heck, he hasn't played in a few days as it is.

  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:35 PM) Man at 2nd, nobody out... We'll see how the Twins do in the same situation. Well, there's a runner at third now.

  7. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:23 PM) Nice. How did you obtain this info? MILB.com 7IP 4H 9K 1BB now.
  8. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:16 PM) 5-4 Indians. So wait, a team that has both Alex Gonzalez and Joe Borowski, is blowing a game? Why am I not surprised.
  9. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 08:08 PM) Last time, he was having a problem with tipping his change, which caused him to screw up his mechanics. As evidenced by his stats over his starts since going back down, he's fixed those problems. I'd say call him up and give him another shot if none of the regular starters can start that game. I'd also prefer to see him on the playoff roster over Adkins. He's pitching a shutout through 6 innings tonight -- 3 hit, 8Ks, 1BB -- He sucks
  10. The Sox are 1 for their last 19 w/RISP.... It could be worse, but I didn't go back farther than the 5-0 game.
  11. 0-4 w/RISP 1 run in the last 47 innings that wasn't via the HR.
  12. 1 run in the last 46 innings that wasn't via the HR.
  13. Man on 2nd, nobody out... No runs score. Same old sorry ass White Sox. 1 run in the last 45 innings that wasn't via the HR
  14. QUOTE(Greg Hibbard @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 07:11 PM) how bout that start? Ah, he's still got time to make outs on the basepaths.
  15. QUOTE(Heads22 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 05:49 PM) Ames is pretty cool. Oh sure it's cool.... They have stores named 'Drugtown' and and 'Kum & Go'
  16. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 05:37 PM) They swept us w/o Sox killer Jacque Jones. But, unfortunately, he's back. Also, need to look out for Fat LeCroy, too. No more giving up HRs to that Tub. Tubby's splits: vs. RHP -- .242/.324/.356 vs. LHP -- .333/.441/.655 As long as Garcia doesn't suddenly decide to become a southpaw, we're safe.
  17. I just saw on a blog that the Cubs have already announced who they are sending to the AFL. I can't find any info on Sox players who are going. Any guesses? I'd say Rogo Owens Young Tracey Haeger Haigwood Fields Liotta Gio are the possibilities. I suppose you could send Anderson, Bajenaru, Munoz, and Diaz again. Jenks would be eligible too. They can only send 6, and only one from below AA.

  19. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 01:54 PM) I'm glad he's been lights out at Charlotte since his getting slapped around good when he was called up. Sox prospects have a habit of turning into suspects. I think he's got a chance to be good, but five or six good starts in a row at Charlotte aren't going to convince me he's the next Cy Young winner. If we can clinch early let him have a start or two in September and see how it goes. Your alternative is to have Jon Adkins start that game. :puke McCarthy has located his change up since being sent down. He has also added a 2 seam fastball. He's a different pitcher. When he was called up before, he was getting shelled down in AAA, giving up 2 HR's per 9 IP with an ERA above 5. There was no surprise that he got lit up. He wasn't ready, but the alternative was Jon Adkins, Arnie Munoz, and Felix Diaz. If you're going to let the 5 starts in the majors sully your view of him go ahead, you're missing out.
  20. QUOTE(winodj @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 07:25 AM) Please tell me thats not a tattoo on your skin. Thankfully, I'm afraid of needles.
  21. QUOTE(Yossarian @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 01:29 PM) What Colorado Sox Fan said. At least you've proved your point :rolly McCarthy's starts since demotion. IP H R ER BB SO HR ERA McCarthy 45.1 30 10 10 12 38 4 1.99
  22. QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 10:27 AM) He'll get hammered, just like he did last time. He's not ready. BMac is a much improved pitcher since he was last up here. He's far better than Adkins. QUOTE(JUGGERNAUT @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 12:34 PM) Adkins might have to clear waivers if you sent him down before Aug 31st. You're saying that like it's a bad thing.
  23. QUOTE(The Ginger Kid @ Aug 23, 2005 -> 01:35 AM) Reading the star tribune, the twins are already talking another sweep of the sox. They must feel like they own this team in August and September.
