  1. John Garland, and his 16 wins, sub 4 ERA and $3.4M salary did not clear waivers. I don't care if you have a "reliable source" That did not happen. Every team in baseball put a claim on Garland and he was pulled back.
  2. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) Maybe PK should find a slumpbuster for the entire team
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:51 AM) Its funny cause usually a sinkerballer will just continue to get better as their arm fatigues. They are the types of guys that give up runs early and than get into their grooves and can shut guys down. Who knows though, but I"ve noticed the same thing you guys have. On a sidenote, this past weekend, you could just see Garland was throwing too hard and it really bit him in the butt. Garland is at his finest when he's a few MPH off on his fastball because he gets a lot more sink on the pitches. Than every once in a while gear up on his fastballs upstairs (which he has done so well this year). Actually, I thought it was the reverse... I didn't see Garland top 90 on the gun. Granted I wasn't watching the gun all game, but the highest I happened to notice was 89. He just had nothing(movement wise) on his pitches. Even his changeup looked terrible.
  4. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:54 PM) I I like to taste her lasagne :wink :wink
  5. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:38 AM) This game was lost the moment Timo was pulled for Dye, discuss. Yeah, if Timo was still in, he would have been eligible to pitch the 16th. I have no doubt he would have fared better than Adkins.
  6. QUOTE(VAfan @ Aug 17, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) 2. End the trade speculation or make a trade. The Griffey rumors were allowed to fester far too long by Kenny Williams. When it wasn't happening, he should have put an end to the speculation. It would have been a vote of confidence in his club. Instead his message has been the Sox aren't good enough. This may be the most important one. They need to come out and say "these are our guys." Or they need to get something done, YESTERDAY.
  7. Does anyone realize that Adkins would have needed 135 pitches to throw 3 innings tonight?
  8. But where would he play???? This offense is averaging 3.21 Runs/9 innings in August

  10. I don't wanna say I told you so, but..... a the heck with it.... I told you so!
  11. Right now I'd rather watch the Barons play than the White Sox. The Barons haven't lost in a while, and it sounds like they are playing some great baseball.
  12. If we didn't have Adkins we never would have won this game... Oh wait. Nevermind.
  13. QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 11:27 PM) look what happens when timo comes out. Timo should pitch.
  14. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:54 PM) What a pitchers duel. This is just two of the league worst offenses matching each other out for out.
  15. QUOTE(danman31 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:30 PM) According to the log Sweeney got HBP in his 2nd plate appearance, stayed to run the bases (stayed at 1st anyway) and was taken out the next half inning. Important thing to note on Tracey tonight: He allowed 1 flyball in his first 6 innings. According to the logs the hits were either line drives or ground balls. He's a sinkerballer and needs to stay with that. He did get 2 flyouts in his last inning the 7th, which could be attributed to fatigue. Garland is the same way when he's going good. He makes it look easy in the early innings and gets lots of ground balls, but struggles late in the game with lots of flyballs.
  16. Sweeney only got one plate appearence, then was pulled. Wonder why?
  17. Guerrier has recorded 4 different first-pitch outs. TAKE A PITCH YOU DOUCHEBAGS!
  18. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 10:01 PM) Uribe has won us more games on Defense than the Wanna be Gold glover Rowand... this is when all you rowand lovers start bashing. Blasphemy
  19. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:52 PM) Matt Guerrier was pitching, which makes the innning all the much worse. HOLY s***! I didn't even notice. THAT f***ING SUCKS!
  20. Anderson fits right in. Trying to win it on first pitch. Timo can't even save us now. 5 pitch inning for Nathan. He's going 2.
  21. QUOTE(Benchwarmerjim @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 09:42 PM) haha Im not trying to jinx anyone Fish Joo. Joo are Banned.
