QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:47 PM) Well, he struck out, but still had one of the better AB's out of our whole lineup... He's gonna have a lot of strikeouts in his first few games, especially if he's playing LF tomorrow. -

QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:44 PM) Anyone agree with me that if we lose tonight, I'd rather we be no-hit? Of course, I'd be extremely pleased if we won tonight. However, if we're going to lose, rather it be an embarrassing loss to hopefully shake this team up. Brad radke perfect game!!! on 87 pitches. -

QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 07:36 PM) Just wait for Francisco Liriano in the next few years. = Johan Jr. They dropped the ball on Liriano. He should have been up a month ago or better. They'd still have a fighting chance then. Prediction: Juan Uribe and Brian Anderson get hits, but Timo gets the praise for driving in a run with a sac fly. -

QUOTE(Colorado Sox Fan @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 06:51 PM) I don't hate tino like everyone seems to here, but why is dye out of the lineup? Tino is acceptable, he has 17 homeruns, and plays good defense. -
pretty much..... Google automatically gets pinged when a Blogger.com blog is updated because they own it. That makes spamming Blogger the quickest way to get something indexed by Google.

Anyone with a blog on Blogger, create a post titled Storm Ice Hockey Academy with this as the body. Google owns Blogger, so it's indexed within the hour... Kap I suggest you make some spam blogs to get it indexed quickly. <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice</a> <a href="http://www.stormice.com/">Storm Ice Hockey Academdy</a>

Let's think about what would happen if Pauly was benched. Timo would play 1B, LF, leadoff, and bat clean up. Do we really want that?

QUOTE(Kalapse @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 04:11 PM) There are at least 2 OFers ahead of Chris Young in the orginization in Borch and Brian Anderson (who is now up). Your presence is requested at my house to clean the Pepsi off my computer screen after I read that.

Crunching some TIMO numbers.... Since 2002, he is an amazing .239/.287/.331 in almost 300 ABs when leading off an inning. Aaron Rowand is .269/.315/.430 in over 300 ABs in the same situation. Not great, but better. -
QUOTE(WSNS-TV44 @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 11:59 AM) I've listen, and it's the same thing 1.Cubs 2.T.O. and his problems 3.The NBA (even in the offseason) I'm lucky if I hear anything positive on the Sox. M,J,&H is where it's at. They talk about TO -- NEVER They talk about the NBA -- ALMOST NEVER -- They didn't even talk about game 7 of the NBA finals, and had a mocking poll on their website about what interested you more.

QUOTE(ChiSox_Sonix @ Aug 16, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) I wonder if Young gets put on the 40 this off season though just to keep some team like KC from picking him up Uh, Yeah. That's a no brainer. .900 OPS 21 year olds aren't growing on trees in AA.

QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:26 PM) 12 at-bats man. I can make Timo look quite good with a sample size like that. yeah, Uribe was 2-3, and reached in 3 of his 4 PA's. Add those in and it makes the numbers look respectable.

Chris Young sucks.

QUOTE(SnB @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 11:01 PM) God i hate half price night crowds. It's almost worth the full price to not sit by the idiots i had to sit by today. I've been to one monday/Tuesday game since the ASB last season. And I share season tix. I refuse to go to those games.

FX has turned itself into a decent television network. The only one I can think of that's not a premium cable channel.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:25 PM) Hmm. Well. I'll just have to say I disagree with that bigtime. How do RISP ABs occur? By other players on the team not making outs. It's simple really. If you don't make an out you are at the very least awarded first base. Plus by not making an out, you allow for more chaces for your teammates to get hits. That includes HRs, which I don't know if you've heard, are really really good. Every out you make decreases your teams chance of scoring, no matter the situation. Every time you reach safely you increase your teams chance of scoring. Like I said it's simple. Timo Makes lots of outs. He deprives the team of more runners in scoring position AB's through his suckitude in all situations other than RISP than he makes up for by hitting marginally above average in those situations (Though he sucks in ALL situations this season). If we had a team full of Timo's we would score about 1 run per game, but you would be defending them because they would all have good stats with RISP. Timo had what 1 RISP AB tonight? What if he had gone 0-1 in that situation, but 3-3 in the others? -- We probably would have won because he 1) didn't make 5 outs. 2) allowed for more RISP at-bats by the team than in the previous scenario.

QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:20 PM) I dunno. What if you made more money for your company in those 22% of the time (RISP) than other people off that don't work everyday in your company. No my suckitude in the other 78% of the time would negate any gain from the other 22% of the time. RISP ARE ONLY MARGINALLY MORE IMPORTANT THAT ANY OTHER AB
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Exactly. So now you are saying that he should start with numbers like those with RISP? Should he hit 5th? what are you saying exactlY? Because they account for 22% of his plate appearences.... If I sucked at my job only 78% of the time, I wouldn't expect to have a job.
-
QUOTE(jphat007 @ Aug 15, 2005 -> 10:16 PM) What are his PH stats with RISP? Almost all PH are with RISP, that's why you use a pinch hitter.
