  2. QUOTE(Ozzie Montana @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 09:18 PM) Yeah they got heart. Ozzie has guts but does he have the brains to stay in games with torre, francona, and the other good and potential playoff managers? Let's not forget that Torre gave us game 2 of the yankee series by letting Embree face Konerko, Then he tunred around and gave us game 3 by playing the rangeless one in centerfield.
  3. QUOTE(CYGarland @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 08:06 PM) Cotts time please. B) good idea
  4. QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) Good call by whoever said Iguchi would look like s*** tonight against Wells. He's really bad against big breaking balls.... Hey! a baserunner! w00t!
  5. Any chance that the Sox (the white kind) get another baserunner tonight?
  6. Chris Young, since May 1: .282/.375*/.558 16HR, 30 2B 41BB/73K 18SB/4CS *estimate
  7. and since we're on a TV kick.... after 2 episodes, 'Starved' is my favorite comedy on the tube.
  8. QUOTE(ChiSoxyGirl @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Footballers Wives. Um, that's it. I don't think it's very inventive or anything. Just wanted to share. that show is debuting here on one of the channels up the dial... maybe bravo
  9. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 09:51 PM) B-Ham losing 10-7 now. Huntsville scored 7 in the 6th, ouch. Young in the #2 hole, 2 for 4, AVG back up to .270 now, while Owens is at .344. BHam put up a 10 spot in the bottom of the 8th... Young went 4-6 w/ two 2B (6 RBI), average up to .273. -- Did I mention he's gonna be good. (though it's likely he was crushing sub-par pitching tonight.)
  10. QUOTE(rangercal @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 01:21 PM) green fonts. use it. Everyone knows Nebraskans are colorblind... All they can see is Red and Hunters Orange.
  11. QUOTE(3E8 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 10:12 AM) Off topic, did anyone ever figure out just what Mark Grace said when he didn't know he was on the air? He dropped a couple f-bombs... He said something like "if Kyle Snyder hits a f***ing grandslam off of you know you're f***ing going to be released."
  12. QUOTE(tonyho7476 @ Aug 11, 2005 -> 12:53 PM) I'm shocked how often this has actually happened...but last night was the first time since 1999. lowell did it september of last year
  13. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 11:22 PM) The problem is that this is Young's 1st season above low A ball. Francouer IIRC spent the year before this one at AAA, or some part of it. It's more likely we see Anderson up here before Young. Francoeur is playing over his head. He has better contact skills than CY, but he was not tearing up the Southern League by any means. He was, however, considered a top prospect from the moment he was drafted, whereas CY was considered a 'tools' guy and a project. He's either set up for a terrible fall between now and the postseason, or a poor sophmore slump year if the Braves keep him on the roster next season.
  14. QUOTE(Dam8610 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) Thanks for the update. Since you see him in person a lot more than most here, what do you think of the idea of the Sox calling up Chris Young? I don't see him in person, but I'm certainly one of his largest fans here on the site, and I'll tell you right now he's not ready to help this club in any convincing way.
  15. This column was necessary because the Trib actually did sit on it for a day.... They got "scooped" by some douchebag at Newsday... I read this this morning. http://www.newsday.com/sports/baseball/ny-...eball-headlines
  16. She absolutely skewered the medias portrayal of the feel good White Sox a month and a half ago. When she had Darth Thomas and the White Sox attending a team builiding retreat. That was f***ing brilliant. Spot on satire in the form of Legos. Where else are you going to find that?
  17. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 10:15 PM) You just cannot stop Chris Young You can only hope to contain him.... I'm still waiting for his power to come. In a couple years when he looks (physically) less like Alfonso Soriano and more like Torii Hunter, he's going to be a beast.

  19. QUOTE(56789 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 04:17 PM) What does Griffey have against Tucson? Tuscon is a solid 2 hours away from anything, not to mention it's not in florida.
  20. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2005 -> 03:07 PM) Dustin Hermanson now has as many saves as Rivera. We just beat Rivera. Was someone on ESPN saying that Rivera is a Cy Young candidate? Dustin should just point at the sky and pump his fist and smile. The difference was not in their pitching, but in their center fielder's defense. That last out would have been at least a run scoring double with Bernie Williams in Center.
