  1. QUOTE(Antonio Osuna @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 03:38 PM) BTW, Timo Haters: Timo Time is 2-for-2. That's great only 9 more hits in a row to even crack a league average OBP.
  2. Anderson 1-3 w/ an E in the opener.
  3. Wheels are off. Here comes the real hitters. Prepare for destruction.
  4. Pop ups are indefensible. You can't stop them, you can only hope to contain them.
  5. QUOTE(GBlum27 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 02:14 PM) The offensive juggernaut known as the White Sox keeps on rollin'. During the Yankees series, Michael Kay of the YES network had this quote on how the White Sox win games, "They're not going to outscore you."
  6. QUOTE(nitetrain8601 @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) Put Owens in there. I don't see him being any worse than Willie, Ozuna or Timo. And you never know. He could help us down the stretch ala a Frankie Rodriguez or a Miguel Cabrera. That might be true if he had the upside of either one of those guys, or if he wasn't OLDER than them right now. The two guys we have in the minors with similar upsides are McCarthy and Young.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 14, 2005 -> 01:27 PM) The other issue is, Owens is not on the 40 man. If they bring him up, someone has to be outrighted, they are at 40 as we speak. Logical candidate is Matt Smith, unless they can somehow move Borchard. Frank to the 60-day works much easier... Also, Wing has to be the first one removed, other than Borchard.
  8. QUOTE(Soxfest @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 06:58 PM) Scrub is abusing JG Petagine is no scrub... He's way better than say a Ross Gload.
  9. QUOTE(Mr. Showtime @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 05:00 PM) I can't believe CBS picked that up... I only watched it twice... The second was with the sound off. But it was on UPN. CBS picked it up?
  10. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 05:05 PM) What's the problem with Felix at #2? I see nothing wrong with that at all. Nor do I. It's pretty clear who the top pitching prospect and hitting prospect in all of baseball are. Flip flopping them 1-2 does not make the list bunk.
  11. http://www.ahding.com/cheapgas/ Teh interweb is teh 1337
  12. QUOTE(Steve9347 @ Aug 13, 2005 -> 03:33 AM) wow, Iowa state beat us by 6, at home, with our starting QB hurt and out fo the game... WAY TO f***ING GO! How many bowl games did you win? NIU 1, Iowa State 0 What's really funny about this reply is this: Iowa State Bowl Victories: 2 NIU Bowl Victories: 2 and the winner of the tallest midget is...... No one.
  13. QUOTE(JimH @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 07:00 PM) You are not seeing the big picture, or the whole picture. Adkins is a marginal pitcher to be sure. He has only gotten in 1-2 games, but he has warmed up a ton. That means other guys aren't warming up and are getting full and complete rest days. The goal is to keep the pitching fresh going into the stretch, not to give some guy 3-4 at bats per week. That sounds all good Jim, but you're kidding yourself. Adkins hasn't been saving anyone by getting warmed up. Our biggest lead of august was yesterday, with a 4 run margin, similarly, we faced our largest deficit of 4 runs. Adkins wasn't getting warm either time. 4 runs is too close of a game to bring him in. He's f'n useless. He is giving Ozzie a license to use Cotts for one batter though. Cuz hey, if you've got an extra arm in the pen, you ain't gotta worry about running outta pitchas.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 10:59 PM) Francouer at 4. But he's a .400 hitter in the Majors.... I'm midly surprised that Mike Morse didn't make the list for the same reason.
  15. http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/app/mil...x.jsp?content=1 I guess this means Chris Young and Brian Anderson aren't any good.
  16. QUOTE(Soxpranos @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 10:00 PM) Centerfielder Chris Young had a career night at the plate as he finished the game 4-for-6 with two doubles, six RBI and two runs scored. Kenny do not trade this kid. Well that was yesterday.
  17. Chris Young with another HR... average up to .279 What's the over under on him passing Sweeney in terms of average?
  18. QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Aug 12, 2005 -> 09:36 PM) What is his ERA? Has he had that many unearned runs? Oh he's had more unerned runs over that stretch than Garland has ever allowed in a full season, but we all know how much flack Jon took over the years for not being able to pitch over mistakes. It's time to call out Buehrle's sorry ass for the same thing.
