I was 16 and lived in walking distance from Comiskey. I remember going to many games and having one of the best summers of my life. Now I am going on 36 and live a short drive from the park. I hope this summer is even better.

After suffering through April and May freezing my ass off, watching bad baseball, and listening to the incessant yapping of scrub fans rooting for the other team, this was long overdue. Oh, and more ramp chants too. I looooove ramp chants after a big win. I wish I could get up there to enjoy it more often. Me too. You sound like a great Sox fan, and from the short time I met you at that tailgate party you seemed like a great guy. I wish all the long distance diehards from here on the board could be at every game.

I'm not pissed at all. It is good to see the Sox adding to the team midseason for once. I'm tired of waiting for prospects to pan out, go and win now. Get to the damn playoffs and see what happens. If the Sox win a World Series, I give a rat's ass what any of those prospects turn out to be.

Whoa Dude. Do NOT question my loyalty to the White Sox. I have been a Sox fan for as long as I can remenber. And I'm 45 years old. I'm also a somewhat savvy baseball fan. I do not blindly ignore what my intellect is telling me about the quality of a particular team at a particular time. Not questioning your loyalty, just tired of the liatany of excuses people have for not showing up. If the park was packed the team would get more good P.R. and the scrub fans would lose the only thing left they can rip us about. I'm 35 and I have seen my share of good and bad teams.

cw, I was very very hopeful in 2000. But I knew our staff was staying together by means of baling wire and duct tape. We had about .500 ball the last 4 to 6 weeks of the season. If I am never going to beleive in them, why be a fan anymore? Yeah, I beleived they had the "team" to win it all. I am glad I go to the number of games I do every year no matter what is happening. I would have missed out on a lot of great games and memories sitting at home waiting until they had the perfect team.

But the pitching was pretty good in the playoff games, they just didn't hit.
