That has to be the understatement of the year.

If they get him, his nickname should be "Cookie" like the guy from the old Cookie crisp cereal. Cookie Jarvis

The theme from the Odd Couple.

You also said they would lose today. I guess you ain't Nostradamus are you? The way you post you sound as if you are hoping for them to fail. You sure you aren't a closet cub fan?

Those r the f**s that u ignore. Probably Cub fans.... Sorry, but over the past couple years I have heard a lot of booing for Frank out there. There have been plenty of Sox fans that have been down on him and wanted him gone.
-
booing Frank and screaming for him to be traded. :fyou

Why don't you go pick up a Lima jersey and become a KC fan. The Sox are playing their ass off lately and you sound like you want them to lose to KC.

I enjoy beating around the bush.

It's just you. I've never seen a fly with hands and legs. time for you to rent The Fly. but that is about the only place to see a fly with hands and legs. They do have legs, just no hands.

Never ever pick your nose either.

So Bradley gave them one back with his bad baserunning and it evened out. The baserunning isn't the greatest, but who would have thought that the Sox would be 4th in the league in pitching and tied for third in fewest errors commited? Everyone was screaming that they couldn't go anywhere without good pitching and defense. Now they have that. They just won four in a row, and instead of finding a way to lose last night (like they were doing all year long), they found a way to win. Instead of Everett's single landing in the third baseman's glove, it went for a single and gave them the lead. Instead of that long fly ball in the 8th tying the game, Everett caught it on the track. Instead of Hafner's hit going down the line and tying the game in the 9th, Paulie grabs it for the out. Why dwell on the few lowlights? They are in a very weak division with lots of games left against the team in first. The pitching is the best it has been since the first half of 2000. The bullpen with the exception of Koch is stabalizing. The defense has improved greatly over the past couple years. If the bats keep coming around and some of those shots like last night find the gaps, they will score a lot more than 4 runs. Good points. I guess why i'm so upset over base running is because it's the easiest thing to correct and one of the most coachable things. It's mainly a mental thing whereas everything else is physical. Mental errors are unacceptable in my book. Physical errors happen. I guess that's how i'd explain it. If guys were getting rocked on the mound, i wouldn't label them as stupid and get as upset, because that happens. But as most coaches will tell you, there's no room for mental errors. Also, when i played i was a really good base runner, it was one of my strengths, and i just don't think it's really that hard to do well. It's just frustrating. And as far as Bradley goes, unless he ran through a stop sign, that's the 3rd base coach's fault. Yeah, it sucks to see, but at least he was being aggressive. My only problem with it was he should have kept going to 2B and made them make a play. Every team is going to make mental errors, the good ones find ways to win in spite of them.

It was loud in the bleachers. Stay out of the upper deck, that is where all the quiet people like cwsox are. I hate the wave, but I doubt that it distracts or bothers the players. I am sure they are happy to be playing in front of crowds for a change instead of a small gathering of family and friends. Well, maybe i'll go bleachers some more games. I'm usually upper deck. However, the wave started in right field if i can remember correctly. Crowds don't necessarily have to be extremely loud, but i'd like to sit somewhere where the fans are into the game and are more knowledgeable than most (sit 300 level at Hawks games, huge difference than 100 level) I really don't care who is around me and what they know. I know the game and so does my friend Huge. We are loud and into the whole game, keeping score including pitch counts. What others do is their problem. There just aren't that many hard core baseball fans to fill 30,000 plus seats, some people just go to have fun, see fireworks, eat, etc. I have no problem with them as long as they are not standing and blocking my view during the game. This is why you see a difference when it is 15,000 as opposed to 30,000. The 15,000 that are out there when it is cold are the die hards that hang on every pitch. When you get 30,000, the good majority are people there for the entertainment more than the game itself. Relax and enjoy the game. Ya i see what you are saying. Usually i go with friends and we talk some good baseball and pay attention the game. I used to bring a little clicker thing to track pitch counts, but now they have it on the scoreboards on the baselines by the foul pole - i love that addition. Probly only matters to 5% of the people there, but for thos 5%, it is greatly appreciated. I don't mind those people unless they are a distraction from the game (people standing up and eating and ordering food in the middle of a bases loaded jam - happened during sox/cubs games too many times). And the wave is certainly a huge distraction from the game. And for 30,000 people last night, i'd say about 25,000 were participating in that wave. Boooo F.Y.I. The pitch count they have on that board is always 1 or 2 off. Whoever runs it doesn't pay attention. Maybe he is doing the wave.

And if some of the line shots were hit in gaps instead of right at Gerut and Crisp, the game may have been a blow out. Lot's of "ifs" in baseball.

Wow, I thought they won last night.

There will be at least 2, since Huge and I will be there. We can eat enough for 8.

I still have hope. Until it is all over, I won't give up on them. Call me blind, crazy, whatever. I am a fan and I won't give up on them until they have less games remaining than the number they are out of first place.

You must have kicked him in the head. That would be like kicking cement. I haven't been able to walk around much since Thursday. I had laser surgery to remove a bunch of plantar warts from my feet and it hurts like hell to walk. I am going to the All star stuff today, Monday , and Tuesday though.

Happy birthday CW. You share the same birthday as my wife.

Nah, the hot chicks were swarming Maury. Chicks dig the beer gut.

I am tired and have no voice left this morning, but last night's game makes it all worth it. A beautiful night sitting in the bleachers with my brother, huge, RPS, and Guido. The place was rocking most of the night, and it was sweet to see Hunter come up short on stealing a homer for once (and get an earful from the bleachers), Alomar throwing some leather at 2B (see ya Jiminez), and Daubach continuing to heat up. You could feel the energy evaporate when the twin s***s got that run in the 11th, and the place was pretty quiet. I saw several people get up and walk out after the first two outs in the Sox half of the 11th (man, did they miss out). At that moment, I told the guys around me that Paulie was gonna tie it up (no s***, ask RPS, I called it). A moment later the ball sailed about 5 rows in front of us in the next section. The noise in there was deafening. Then when Frank finished off the sweep, it was beyond deafening. To top it off, after it ended they put Frank up on the scoreboard as he was being interviewed on the field, and everyone went nuts again. It was great to see him standing there with that huge smile as everyone showered him with cheers. I am glad to see him getting some love after all the crap he has endured the past few years. On the way out the ramp chants were in full force. After sitting in hell for 2 1/2 months out there, these kind of games are that much sweeter. I hope to see many more.

I have to agree. I hate the wave and will never participate, but you can't get 30,000 diehard baseball fans at a ball game every night. You need the casual fans, and if they want to do the wave, so be it. These are the same people that the pizza races and other distractions are for. I'm just happy there were enough people there to actually do the wave.
