  1. Look at what Sosa is doing in Charlotte and remember what he did with the Sox. Then apply that to every hitter that goes through Charlotte. Means nothing until they perform in Chicago.
  2. I find it hard to believe that. Burger was a fun player, but he objectively sucked with the Sox. Again, outside of a 6 week heater he brings nothing but slug. 2012 Adam Dunn had more value, because at least Dunn still got on base. I find it hilarious how Dunn is reviled by Sox fans and Burger is beloved because Dunn was objectively a better player. More power and more On base. All I can think of is that it has to do with salary figures. That's Jerry's money, not yours.
  3. I know that Eder is 25 but he's got all season to figure it out. I wonder if the common denominator for Eder being ok before the trade and terrible afterward and Burger taking off with Miami is that the Sox are a terrible organization.
  4. Think about who Jake Burger has been outside of the 2nd half of 2023. Burger is all slug. He brings nothing else to the table. He hit .216 and had an OBP below .300 for the Sox. It was a miracle they were able to get Eder for him. When the deal happened, I thought the Marlins were on drugs. I will disagree that Burger had actual value when they traded him.
  5. Hahn did a solid on his final trades. Even Burger for Eder is a wash at worst right now. Sure, Burger had a solid half season for Miami but he's also a 28 year old DH. Eder could still be something. Hahn was good at one thing, and that was selling.
  6. The first two starts he made he was sitting at 98 and topping at 100 and that worked. Lost 1-2 mph and suddenly became a gascan. Fastball is too hittable. Dude needs to be a reliever. At least the Sox can get something for him.
  7. He is only good when he can top out in triple digits. 96-97 won't cut it for him. His fastball is too hittable. Seems crazy to say that a LHP is no good sitting at 96-97 but it's true with him. Back to the bullpen for Crochet.
  8. Out of all of the Sox s%*# big contracts, Benintendi might be the worst of them all. At least Dunn hit HRs every now and then. At least Keuchel had a good pandemic season. At least Danks was good for the Sox before he got paid and his arm fell off. He has gone from barely useful in his first year to completely useless in his 2nd and there's still 3+ years left.
  9. Yeah you have a point. I think the extra year at an insanely cheap rate for SP might drive up the price from the teams up against the tax.
  10. No they understand. That's why they want to move to Nashville. It's either deliberate or neglect.
