  1. That's not a winning strategy if it goes to a 3rd possession. I knew the reason why they deferred, but that's just too risky. The 9ers didn't defer in their last super bowl, and were criticised for it, but they actually made a good decision since it could have backfired like it did Buffalo tonight.
  2. Yeah, I was, way back in the 80s when I was a kid. Lots of former cub fans here. People do change, ya know, especially from boyhood to adulthood. as a kid, 97.9 The Loop played "yucky old guy music". It eventually became one of my fav stations, I never missed Gettin the Led Out. Change happens, few people are the same person they were decades ago, bud.
  3. We have to censor swear words here, eh So, how stupid were the Bills to defer 1st possession of OT, JFC, they gave Denver an extra possession, which led to their victory. So idiotic. IMO, they should go back to sudden death OT, with 1st possession going to the team who drew less penalty yards. Gives an extra incentive to not foul. But, by god, giving your opponent a full extra OT possession is so braindead, bills deserved to lose on that alone. Thinking you're slick by subverting expectations, usually doesn't work out. I was there when the Lions gave us 1st OT possession in sudden death, which we used for the win. "newthink" will backfire often. If you win OT coin toss, take that 1st possession, never defer, Never give your opponent an extra chance. It's that simple. and now, the 9ers are showing that they're worse than bills, which made the reseeding pointless. Let the top seed choose his opponent, 5 seed is sometimes worse than 6.
  4. at least we're not getting Golden Globes promos during this game, unlike the last cbs game. That was so cringe, they shouldn't have forced Nants to do that, pretty insulting. If they're gonna wear Orange Crush jerseys, then why not go back to the OC helmets. Better combo. Didn't know invesco field is called MHS now, just like the predecessor. Hopefully bears don't wear color rush again tomorrow, or worse, the orange tops. Yuck. Just wear what ya did last time you faced rams in playoffs, the standards. In between rams playoff games, rams left town, won a sb, lost a sb, returned, lost a sb, then won one. So, what's everyone's SB20 memories. Or 41. I only watched a few minutes of the SB20 halftime show while I ate pizza at Showbiz Pizza Place, didn't bother to watch the game since I was too busy with skeeball, wack a mole, and the singing gorillas. Saw 41 at a friend's place, but wasn't bothered by the outcome, that Colts team was likeable.
  5. Yup, Stone Pony ain't in it for the cash. He's a palehose for life. as are we, of course, thru thick and thin. These thin years have been easy as pie, 2026 is looking good, so all systems are go. Jason just did a college game on fox rn, they need to move him and aj up to the a-team for mlb, Davis and Smolts can be secondary. Which pushes out amin, but oh well. Jas and Pierzynski are gold, they deserve the fall classic, IMO.
  6. Ugh, flubs sign that cheater Bregman. aigh, yall, congrats to the Monsters for getting the playoff monkey off they shoulder, they had the longest Chicago drought without making the final 8, and still, unbelievably, have the longest title drought in the city, which is completely surreal. I expect a W next week against Eagles, who we beat in Fog Bowl, or Rams, who we sonned in the conference title game. See yall then
  7. He put us in a predicament a missed FG got us out of. Like after the Podsednik walkoff, fans stayed for like 40 minutes He dug the hole he got himself out of. Literally Bart telling Homer he'll take up smoking, then quit it. Yall are reacting like Homer did. "I'm so proud of you, son". Ben set up this team to be better than barely winning at the death due to a missed FG. I still prefer they bench the guy. People gotta remember that some great comebacks were due to incompetence. atl-pats wasn't supposed to be that close. Neither was 9ers-Cin in 89. Buffalo was supposed to dogwalk oilers in 93. Those "great comebacks" were due to early choking. Even the dodgers in the recent WS underachieved, they were expected to win more comfortably. So honestly, meh. We'll see next week. at least the home curse might be lifted. In a city very familiar with curses, something erie was going on.
  8. Hate the gimmicky kickoff rule, go back to the old school. Bears are in their longest drought without making divisional playoffs, ever. Longest drought without winning it all too, which is ironic considering we all got used to cubs, sox and hawks being the cursed teams, while bears were the class of the city. Life comes at you fast.
  9. Too little, too late. First time wearing dark pants at home in postseason. Dumb idea, gotta keep tradition.
  10. Can't wait to rub this in to 670 chat. Those fools thought there was no Soldier Field Curse. There is. Next season, aim for WC, or petition league to let higher seeds defer home field. We're literally the 2019, 2023 Houston astros.
  11. LOL!!! What an insult to Punky, Rex, Harbaugh, Orton and even Flutie. SCRUB!!
  12. The only Edgerrins I ever heard of were James and Cooper Bears should pay us royalties for the playoff Blackout. We invented it. The problem this game has been williams, not Johnson.
  13. Since when does it not have one Ohioans love to call Kroger Kroger's for some reason I'm right about the scrub quarterback, and southside pronunciation, meatball. You don't know ball.
  14. Soldier's. What kind of Southsider are ya. I bet you call Jewel's Jewel too, eh. We're vindicated. Bench that scrub!
  15. Bench williams. I never liked that guy anyway. Doesn't live up to the McMahon standard. Hopefully this isn't al michaels' last game. I fear they may Summerall him because of age.
  16. LOL!!! Looks like Pack will cover the spread. The fans are copying our tradition of playoff blackouts, which does look good. But not enough to break the Curse of Soldier's Field. The reseeding system for the divisional playoffs is dumb. Sometimes, the lowest seed is the better team. Seahawks should be allowed to choose which playoff opponent they want.
  17. This is only the 3rd playoff game in 15 f'in years, and you're gonna jet. So you missed SB20, eh. Those were legendary years that will never be repeated. But they were still playoff chokers even back then. williams is overrated, like I been telling 670 th score chat. Put in the 2nd stringer. Bears and Sox both had long playoff droughts simultaneously in the 2010s. Both went to playoffs in 2021. Maybe this means we'll at least win the division this year.
  18. Point stands regardless. We're snakebitten at home. Shoulda lost purposely for the WC spot. There are no silver linings, regardless. They knew January home games are curtains. Gotta avoid that. He seems to be doing ok. He's a legend, should still be the NBC main guy. Hate his turtle-looking replacement.
  19. Well, the sportsbooks agree with me since GB are 1.5 point favs. The reason is because it's at Soldier's Field. Yup, we addicts want to watch anything that has anything to do with the game, even if it's mostly fluff and ads. But man, do I still mark out whenever they show clips of the Ditka era. How lucky are we to have experienced the Ditka era, Jordan era, Hurt, and even Kane era. Great times. Unpopular opinion, but the Roenick era was better than Kane despite 0 rings.
  20. I'm just now realising that pregame shows have gotten increasingly, and ridiculously, longer over the years because of ad time. Bears had a 90 minute prepregame show today. Not even the official pregame show, but prepre. and now, this Rams pregame show is 90 minutes too. WTF has this world come to.
  21. Meh. I've been telling every1 that Bears should have lost on purpose to avoid playoff home games. This is how they fared at home since 86: 86 L Redskins 87 L Redskins 88 W Eagles, L 9ers 91 L Cowboys 2000s Losses to eagles and panthers. 2010s L GB, L Philly We're sub 500 at home in last 40 years. We shoulda kept a WC spot. I predict Pack 21-17.
  22. So, is this where we can post about the game, or will there be a separate thread Why is Bears Gameday Live on so early before kickoff, they preempted the college hoops game for it, when they could have easily just aired it afterwards.
  23. Of course, I was a die hard cub fan back then. Grew out of it in the 90s, was a slow burn. Sure, he's loyal to Jerry, but you can tell he sincerely loves the team. He'll be rooting for us in retirement, not for cubs or Indians.
  24. Stone is a true Sox fan, he sincerely loves the team, that's why he's loyal. He's in it for life, unconditionally. Maybe you should try it too. I don't mind us losing, as long as we have competent announcers, which Stone is, but shrif is not. Jerry's an idiot for hiring him. Just listen to Len instead, who definitely has his faults, but is still 100x better. shrif is such a fool. He pronounces panther correctly, yet Edgar's surname differently, when he already proved he can hack it if he tried. Why the inconsistency. Because he is dumb, that's why. If you pronounce panther right in Spanish, then do it for other Sox names FFS.
