Gee, I wonder who said that? Hint: His name rhymes with Kenny Williams oh man that is funny, i didn't even think of that. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! post of the week here fans.
-
And I think it's pretty safe to say all of Soxtalk's success this month and over all has alot to do with a certain member here who's adored by all, his a leader to alot of you, and maybe the smartest poster on these boards....His contribution to this site has been matched by none and others have taken note of this and is trying to emulate his greatness to succeed on their own accord.. He gives them motivation to post, motivation to make soxtalk.com the best of the best....Who is this member?? You guys probably are thinking it's Jas!!! YEAH!!!! jas for governor. and all this while i thought you were talking about me, i was blushing. what is the yrly total so far.
-
and how is that going to happen?
-
lets start a campaign for you. why not? think of the pr, sox talk board creator of the popalar soxtalk.com is running for Governor. with his duties as mod of the board, and going to baseball game jason feel that the extra duties as gov will not be a problem. he is a home grown product, when asked what is needed not, jas mentiion that he feel the most important duty that is needed at this moment, that the sox should trade for a 5 th starter and getting the team better

http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/story?id=1586826 interesting discussion, too bad nothing was mention of chi's gm.
-
what will the sox give up, nothing. they should take a chance and see if he has learn his lesson, if not cut him.
-
if we don't overpay, i am willing to part with wing, rauch, malone, diaz, miller, pacheco and i would even throw in honel and cotts if the deal was soooo good to pass up. keep the AA and A pitchers untouch. i mean getting more than 1 pitcher from them. except for a couple of pitchers in AA most of those in AAA are trade bait. but our club is in such trouble with immediate help from the minors is not there.

>>>>>>>>The Red Sox released righthander Mike Nicolas, who they acquired earlier in the season from the Brewers for lefthander Brian Adams. The Brewers had claimed Nicolas on waivers from the Padres the same day of the trade. Nicolas was 4-2, 6.06 for Double-A Portland before getting his release i would take a chance on him and pick him up and assign him to the minors. this guy has a fastball and very little else. if he hasn't learn that being a hardhead will lead him out of the league, he might just have woken up. either way this will an nice try out for some one who save 7 games last yr with the padres. here is ba info on him, #8. Mike Nicolas, rhp Age: 23. B-T: R-R. Ht.: 6-3. Wt.: 207. Signed: Dominican Republic, 2000. Signed by: Bill Clark. Background: Nicolas’ age was revised upward 26 months during the crackdown on visas before the 2002 season. Unlike most players who suddenly aged, he saw his prospect status improve afterward. That’s because he destroyed California League hitters and topped all upper-minors relievers by averaging 14.1 strikeouts per nine innings. He tied for the minor league lead in appearances. Strengths: When Nicolas throws strikes, he’s nearly unhittable. He threw 92-96 mph every time out last year and peaked at 100. His slider is a plus pitch at times and if he ever becomes consistent with it, he’d almost be unfair. Lefthanders have hit .161 with two homers in 174 at-bats against him the last two seasons. Weaknesses: Nicolas threw only fastballs at the start of the year, and the Padres had to make him work on his slider and rudimentary changeup. He overthrows, which detracts from his command, and is slow to the plate, making him vulnerable to basestealers. The Future: Given the opportunity to close in the final two weeks last year, Nicolas went 7-for-7 converting saves and fanned 24 in 11 innings. He projects as San Diego’s closer of the future

are you going to some life changes...................... such language
-
like rex said, why start his clock on his service time?
-
i know, but cmon now, belly up the bar and fess up.
-
unless you are tryiing to bring the team together and let the fans see a unity instead of the bs that white is spouting.
-
a great read and more to be excited for next yr when he continues to grow.
-
wright would be the likely choice if he hasn't struggle as much as he has. i wish he was pitching like he was last yr but oh well. on the surface, i think cotts will be the one if we don't make a trade.
-
every board has a personality and ours i think goes with more on the minors leaguers and how they are doing and of course with the bigs as well. that is my opinion
-
and in the situation that we are in, we may have no choice but to go with the hot arm.
-
the owners, maybe now eddie eihorn(sp) can play gm again and make a trade.
-
i remember in the beginning of the season, i was saying that the barons would do good and make the playoff. a lot of posters said that they, the club took a beating by losing a lot of the players. i still had faith. yessssss!!!! i think and hope you are right on that cotts may be ready now in at any other point.
-
either way, i am happy for him. yeah too bad he didn't win, but its the progress that i am looking at.
-
that is what i am thinking.............. he is progressing very well.
-
either way, this still might qualify as a quality start, wouldn't it?
-
willaimson, sullivan and white would be great............ how come only espn has this news on the reds wanting to get rid of specific players? not one other sports site has this even as a rumor? is kw listening or for that reading this, go and get your ass in the hunt and see what is wanted. has to be a firesale.
