QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 11:01 AM) They do it in airports, arenas, stadiums, workplaces, etc, why not on the subways? The only surprise to me is that it took this long, and the searches are only random. I'm sure they'll be really "random."

Oh, yeah. I just went to this website. Let's just say I have a feeling they don't even make a pretense of fair and balanced news. . . A muckraker can make up stories about any movie/book and someone would get all up in arms about it. And, I heard that Lord Voldmort in Harry Potter was based on George W. Bush too!!!

QUOTE(sec159row2 @ Jul 22, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article....RTICLE_ID=45390 and hollywood is wondering why movie ticket sales are the worst in years... maybe the 51% conservatives in this country are finally fed up with the anti-american hollywood... does every movie have anti-bush/ anti-american undertones? I wasn't gonna see war of the worlds cause cruise is an idiot, but this guarentees I won't be seeing it... why is hollywood so anti-american?? 1.) I wouldn't say 51% of America is conservative. You seem to have forgotten that there are moderates. 2.) Yeah, um, I'm at a loss. . .

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 02:41 PM) Can you imagine how sexy Frank Thomas would look in one of those? Meow. Lol, yeah that's why I was so confused.

QUOTE(ceffa2000 @ Jul 21, 2005 -> 01:59 PM) I'm looking forward to the cami's, ala San Diego Padres. I think San Diego only wears camiflouge because of the naval base near there--so I would be pretty shocked if the Sox got them. And when I first read that post I thought he was talking about these camis. And I was very confused.

My debt isn't that bad. It's worse during the summer, because I only get paid during 9 mos of the year (but have to work all year round--suckage). So, it's a struggle to make ends meet. This sucks, and I agree it should have had more warning and been gradual.

QUOTE(Texsox @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 09:33 PM) Overall, and very unscientific, but the Dems seem to "do" the internet better. Duh! That's because they invented the internet!

Chocolate breast milk? Ish.

Did you guys see the picture of Roberts' 4 year old dancing (while wearing saddle shoes--poor fashion choice) as Bush announced the nomination? Also worthy of mention was his wife's Jackie-O pink suit (I honeslty do like that one).

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) Yeah, but she doesn't drink. No, but I'm great if you want to sit quietly and watch a baseball game.

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) You can bring in unopened water and peanuts. The ones they sell in the lot are cheaper than the ones inside. Do you know if you are going 8/20 yet..? Not looking good. But I'm going with my sister, so we'll have a good time either day. And I will definitely plan my trip out next year so I can hang out with ya'll.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:46 AM) How about "Baseball at Wrigley"!!! Oh...wait...it's been done. Yeah, no one believed it the first time so. . .

I don't really drink anymore, and especially not at the price they are in a ballpark. I actually don't usually eat or drink during the game. If it's allowed I might bring in a water and some peanuts (nervous habit), but usually I'm content to just sit and watch the game. I guess you could say I'm a cheap date. . .

QUOTE(YASNY @ Jul 20, 2005 -> 11:13 AM) Considering that Justice Ginsburg was overwhelmeingly approved, even though she is a flaming liberal, maybe the damn Democrats need to take the high road that the Republicans took during her nomination. It seems the Republicans didn't worry about the philosophical standings of Ginsberg. Maybe the powers that be in the the Democratic Party need to worry a bit more about being "uniters and not dividers". The way I look at it, when Rehnquist retires he SHOULD be replaced with a conservative. As it was the Supreme Court was very nicely balanced out--and I felt like decisions were handed down very routinely (due, mostly to the moderate) that considered the actual constitutional basis of the question at hand. However, I feel that a liberal should be replaced with a liberal, a conservative with a conservative and a moderate with a moderate. I think a well balanced supreme court will be better for the nation than a skewed one and will foster decisions that will benefit the nation as a whole NOT one side or the other.

QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 02:07 PM) "Shook me all night long" AC/DC...oh wait, wrong kind of shaking. Maybe not--there was a big baby boom in FLA 9 months after all their hurricanes. I mean, the power's probably already out. . .

My dad was saying that this year there were also a lot of cuts to farm subsidies this year, which will make it that much worse for the farmers. Does anyone know if that's true?

QUOTE(Steff @ Jul 19, 2005 -> 11:08 AM) Sadly.. the practice of waiting is gone. When I go I wait till between batters - more often between innings. And if I get back during an at bat I wait at the top of the stairs. Always a steady stream of traffic up and down them though.. :headshake It drives me up the wall! I usually sit through the entire game without going anywhere that isn't my seat. And I hate missing the game. I definitely think there should be some kind of thing that the ushers won't let you go down the aisle during an at bat. Definitely common courtesy.

I think the obvious choice here is Joan Baez's Blowin in the Wind.
