6/1/06 Game Thread: White Sox @ Indians

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:08 PM) Perhaps our pitching isn't as amazing as everyone made it out to be during the pre-season. I would take our rotation over anyone elses...our bullpen...thats totally different. -

QUOTE(whitesox1976 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 09:05 PM) What in the world happened to the pitching staff? Losing 3 straight now to Cleveland is pathetic. Thank goodness Detroit is on a losing streak also. I don't know, but I would say they have a decent offense. -

QUOTE(greg775 @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:59 PM) This is why I don't look at who you are playing just how you are playing. We've lost 3 of 4 to the Tribe letting them back in the race. Detroit beat the hell out of the Tribe and everybody said Detroit is playing nobody. Cleveland is now right back in it. If the sox would be taking care of business like they should be we wouldn't have to worry about anyone. Even now they should be thinking about improving each one of themselves, not other teams. -

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:57 PM) It's a long season - they are not playing very good right now. They just have to right the ship and start playing like they can - it's not hte end of the world. It's not the end of the world, but a lot of these games that they have been losing should be ours. -

QUOTE(ottawa_sox @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:55 PM) Throw the baseball and get people out. Is nobody accountable anymore - a player screws up and management gets blamed. How many 'f*** Ozzie' comments have been made this year already - our only saviour in the last 90 years. Of course Kenny is gonna get his too. I've never said it, but are you going to argue that Ozzie has made the perfect decisions? -

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:50 PM) When the f*** did I blame Ozzie for what happened to McCarthy? I wanted McCarthy to start the 6th inning, as I think he's a hell of a lot more comfortable starting the inning instead of coming in with people on base. It's truly disappointing to see what we've made McCarthy into this season. He should have definitley come in the 6th. With him not seeing ANY action in May I don't see how the f*** he wasn't put in. -

QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:45 PM) How would people like trading for Soriano and sticking him in LF. You could trade Pods, Broadway and Fields for him. We would most likely be overpaying, but he could bat leadoff and provide 40/40 production. Realistically though, offense is not our problem and defense and pitching is, so its adding to a strength and making a weakness worse. That probably is not a good thing, but he would add some more spark to the team. I hope you are joking. -

QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Jun 1, 2006 -> 08:40 PM) They're what? 1 game behind last year's pace? I'm getting pissed off too, but at least we're not the Royals. You better believe Ozzie is going to rip to the media tonight. Thats not the point though. The point is that they are gift wrapping games to other teams like wins are easy to come by. Either by errors or by giving up f***ing meatballs after we give the pitchers the lead. -

2-1 Indians damnit... -
Giving up McCarthy would be stupid and Fields looks to be coming along very nicely. With that said he just signed a huge ass contract a while ago (in years) so I don't see why they would trade him.

QUOTE(TitoMB345 @ May 31, 2006 -> 03:27 PM) I agree about his defense, I love the way he plays CF. But his batting is atrocious right now. And I don't see signs of improvement. It's not like hes ripping the ball right too people, he's striking out 30% of the time. He just needs to refocus or something. How will he do that is the question. But I KNOW this kid can hit, he just needs to get around to it. Maybe in AAA. and who will replace him if he goes to AAA?
-
QUOTE(aboz56 @ May 31, 2006 -> 02:52 PM) Well Chris Young is no longer with the Sox, so what is the point of even discussing this? All of the Anderson doubters are really starting to get on my nerves. The kid has hardly had a chance to get settled in and all we can do is speculate about other players and this or that. At this point, you're either in or out with this kid. Just don't try to jump back on the bandwagon when he turns into a stud. He's already one of the best defensive centerfielders in baseball. I agree. Anderson will improve and with his great defense theres no one to replace him with. The one that should get benched is Uribe.

QUOTE(Jimbo @ May 30, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) Tigers are falling back to reality....we can hope We'll see. They might just be going through a few tough games.

Lol! You have got to be kidding me...
