QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 07:44 PM) No, it is not Eric Gordon. I'm pretty the Illini staff would never take Gordon back onto their roster anyway.... Please enlighten us then.

QUOTE(Buehrle>Wood @ Oct 28, 2006 -> 05:11 PM) Derrick was the one who requested the visit Derrick was also the one who requested to stay over night Derrick wants to stay over night at UI again If Derrick verbals, a certain other big time recruit will likely follow assuming the coaches still want him there(I'm sure you can figure out who that is) Derrick may eliminate a school by the time of his announcement Rose to UI is certainly looking better. I don't know. Still seems like Memphis to me for whatever reason. i am pretty sure DR is giving UI another because that certain somebody changed schools.

Cora becomes bench coach
Hopefully having Razor on the staff creates a comfort level for Fields and/or Sweeney and maybe Brian, too.

Recruiting Thread
QUOTE(fathom @ Oct 26, 2006 -> 02:14 PM) Has a player ever produced less on the court than Brian Randle to have some fans consider him a "true stud". Reports out of Illini practices state that he's no more active on the offensive end than he was last year. I just love to see how so many Illini fans have to wipe that egg off their face now when it comes to their constant b****ing about Reggie Rose, Adidas, etc. Brian hasn't been asked to be an offensive player yet. Last year it was Dee and Augie. The fact is Randle is as good a defender in college basketball, an electrfying dunker and developing a shot. By the time Rose is a freshman Randle will be a stud. He never has been asked to carry an offesive load, and now will do it and watch, he will become studly.

The fact that Rose is going to visit ILL again, makes me believe he will come. Rose would not give ILL just a courtesy visit, so obviously he is seriously entertaining. Being a true point guard, Rose would be a sensation as a freshman at ILL. He would have arguably the best shooter in the nation in Jamar Smith, a true stud in Brian Randle and some depth in the interior with Pruitt and Carwell. At IU he would share the limelight with Gordon who would probably outshine him because of his offensive abilities, Memphis really doesnt look that good for weapons around him. It makes sense the ILL is gonna get another close look.

High School Football Playoffs Thread!
QUOTE(redandwhite @ Oct 25, 2006 -> 01:10 PM) I haven't seen any games this year being at school, but I had heard Frahler was doing rather well. No? I havent seen any as well, but I hear Brigandi and Spellman carry the team with Frahler doing an okay job.

Sox interested in A-Rod?
FWIW, Bob Nightengale of USA Today reported last week that the Sox would offer Crede and Garcia for A-ROD, too, so it may be a coincidence or there may be something to it.

Dating Advice Needed
Okay, I took this girl out last Friday who I had been watching Bears games with this year and have hung out with her at times. Two of my friends thought she liked me, as did I. I asked out and she said yes and we had a good date (at least I think) friday night. So, now I am clueless as what to do. What's my next step in terms of dating? What clues should I be looking for to see if she does indeed like me and that her yes to the first date was not out of niceness (if you know what I mean)? I need help, i really like this girl.

How did we ever lose Fabio Castro?
One he is 21 years old (still good though,) but he is only 5-7 and does not have overpowering stuff. I wish we would have put him on the forty, but he only a set-up man at best. So its not that great a loss, would have been good trade bait though.

The Official Josh Fields Thread
QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Oct 20, 2006 -> 05:57 PM) I hope Fields is traded. Unless he's going to hit 40 homers, or drive in 120 runs, the Sox don't need to add a guy who will whiff 140 times a season to their line-up. Fields is also a high OBP guy though, unlike Crede and a lot other guys on this team. He also has deceptive speed, which is a bonus. He's gonna strikeout, but makes up for it in a lot of other ways.

The Official Josh Fields Thread
Pierre in CF, Fields and in LF. Sweeney gets another year in AAA and is insurance in case Fields cannot handle it. Trade Anderson with Garcia for something? Maybe a young mets pitching prospect or bullpen help.

Minor League SS or 2B?
QUOTE(Heads22 @ Oct 17, 2006 -> 10:11 PM) There's not much. Pedro Lopez, Robert Valido and Chris Getz are the most you might have heard of. Along with what Heads said, we got nothing. Valido had the potential to be a stud, but it seems that was steroid aided. Getz is a future utility player at best, and the same goes for Lopez.

Biggest HS Rivalry in Illinois History?
QUOTE(Texsox @ Oct 16, 2006 -> 10:39 AM) How about York's long green line and every other Cross Country program in the state? IIRC for about a 30 year stretch they won half the state titles. Coach Newton had an amazing career there. I ran cross country in high school and all I can say is I HATE YORK.

Bulls Montage Video for Upcoming Season
QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Oct 2, 2006 -> 05:17 PM) Honestly I didnt care much for it. For one I probably would of waited for pre-season so you can get pics of Wallace and Brown in Bulls uniforms. Also a lot of the pictures arent that clear and might of looked better if you used video. Lastly I think you probably could of found a song that would of suited it better although that wasnt really all that bad. Also I prob would of started with Kirk since he is kind of the leader of the team, than go to Gordon and Deng b4 introducing the big fa acquistion. Kind of build hype going into him you know? How might I get this video?

It was my first time making such a thing, so I want all the constructive criticism. EDIT: It takes a little bit for the video to get on youtube, so it maybe be a few minutes.

Baseballamerica's league top 20's start this week
No Cunningham in the top 20 of the SAL. I find that hard to believe a 20 year old who hits .300+ with nearly a .900 OPS and 19 SBs is not in that top 20.
