Solid pics Alex. That last one of AJ's pretty cool.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:46 AM) He did look a little slow in the field to my eyes. May have just been taking it easy his first time out. He said something to that effect: http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-soxnt10.html

QUOTE(RockRaines @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:44 AM) He wont have a huge chance of breaking in our OF either. With Sweeney, Owens, Anderson probably filling the gaps. There was talk of moving him to 1st base, but with Paulie there long term, and Thome as our DH, theres also a log jam there. Who knows what we will do with this kid. It's certainly an excellent problem to have.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:38 AM) Ok, so I just replied to 1 person's quote in a thread, posted it, then replied to another person's quote, and the system joined those 2 posts together automatically. Is that normal? Because if it is, it's really cool. Yep. And I'm pretty sure if someone edits their post to the point that they add on to it, it registers as an unread post to the people that haven't seen the revisions. There's some sweet features.

QUOTE(YASNY @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:22 AM) That quote is all well and good on the surface. Then you get into the question of just how persusive Boras is with his clients. Can he convince Joe he's being treated unfairly or being lowballed? That's what remains to be seen. We'll see. As Boz said though, Crede's stated he loves it here. He seems to be a favorite in the clubhouse, and with the fans now. I would definitely say the odds are much greater for us keeping him, than seeing Crede go elsewhere. Sure, Fields is doing good in the minors, but do we really want to start from scratch again? Crede's finally coming into his own, after some early career struggles. Why would the Sox or Crede want to start over, after all of that?

QUOTE(WCSox @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:12 AM) If his hitting continues to improve and Boras is still his agent after 2008, he'll be playing elsewhere. Thankfully, we have his rights for the next two seasons. Crede's been on record a few times saying he's not going to have his agent dictate what happens. If he wants to stay here, which he is saying, and the opportunity presents itself, Crede will certainly be back.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 10, 2006 -> 11:03 AM) It should be really awesome once we get the new skin up and pretty up the clickable smilies region. I'm still jazzed about this. Yeah, this is really sweet. Great work again Jas!

Darrell Arthur to KU
greasywheels121 replied to Jimbo's Drinker's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm not surprised. I know a lot of other schools supposedly got into the mix, when Davis resigned. However, I always felt he'd end up there. Because for the longest time it was between KU and IU, and Davis' exit took us out of the running. I didn't see him going elsewhere. -

QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:51 AM) Welp the Mavericks finally wisened up and put Devin Harris in the starting 5 and moved Terry to the 2 guard, and what do ya know....Harris scores 20 and they blow the Spurs out of their own effin gym. Mavs are going to win this series people, the Spurs should just feel blessed to not be down 0-2 right now. I agree. I think this Mavs team is legit this year. I'm pulling for them, and would not be surprised to see the Spurs make it into the Finals this year. -
White Sox > your team

QUOTE(effectivelywild @ May 10, 2006 -> 02:16 AM) Ummm, he looked ok. The HR was down the RF line but was still a nice shot. I hope he's back. That #5 part of the lineup is hot. Haha. You're brushing it off as if it were nothing. Dye looked great tonight, for not seeing live pitching for about a week. That could mess someone's timing off big time. Yet, he came back without missing a beat, with the oppo-field HR.

QUOTE(Brian @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:39 AM) So can't use photobucket? You can, it just won't be thumbnailed

QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:55 AM) Conan & Mr. T in a canoe in the Chicago river = genius. ^^^ Solid little clip, and pretty cool that the Sox were the only team recognized.

QUOTE(Tony82087 @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:38 AM) Conan in Chicago is on right now. Reifert said JD's on it.

Popularity of WSox other than in Chicago

QUOTE(Sox Machine @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:27 AM) Thanks, and indeed I am. First time poster, long-time lurker. I'll hang up and wait for my answer. Solid. Your blog is definitely one of the Sox blogs I keep up with on a daily basis. Look forward to seeing your posts on topics around the forum. -

QUOTE(Sox Machine @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) There's no Sox presence in upstate NY, aside from the stickers on my car. Cooperstown's stores didn't have much Sox stuff beforehand, but that changed after they won the Series. Not just because it's the Hall of Fame, but because that's where every Sox fan within two hours went to get their championship stuff. No other stores had them. Welcome to SoxTalk! Are you the writer of the blog of the same name? -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:18 AM) Clear cache works, sweet Yup. That's all it took. I'm in business now.

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:14 AM) By the way, Alex, have you tried importing a skin lately? Just asking because I'm going to give it a shot in a few minutes. I think that could be your browser not being completely updated. One thing you all should check out is the new easy ass way to edit topic titles and the 2nd line of topic titles. YOu cna pretty much just click and edit. Its freaking AWESOME. I'm running 1.5.0.3, and no updates are available. Am I the only one having the problem? Quick Edit: I'm running Mozilla and just edited your post using the quick edit feature
-
It's not a big deal, because I can still edit the way we're all used to. However, quick edit's still not working on FireFox for me.

QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ May 10, 2006 -> 12:03 AM) So that means we gotta stick with blue or am I missing something? Just for the time being.

QUOTE(Kalapse @ May 9, 2006 -> 11:53 PM) On that note, I'm not a fan of the banner. I always thought that a banner should have color, black and white at the top of the forum just doesn't look right. Make one then.
-
Sweet, the pulldowns are working on Firefox now. But now the banner got worse.

Solid game, on both sides of the field.
