  1. QUOTE(rudylaw @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 11:20 AM) Does anyone have any idea how the Knights draw in Char. I know it is the minors but it could be a good indicator. The Knights are in Charlotte, SC. This is Charlotte, NC, being discussed as the potential new home for the Marlins.
  2. QUOTE(Rex Hudler @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 11:21 AM) Let's hope that IU gets ahead early and wins this one easily. Marco Killingsworth didn't practice Thursday due to the back spasms that were giving him trouble against Illinois and Roderick Wilmont has not practiced the past two days due to the ankle he hurt in the Illini game. Hope neither of these linger............ I saw those quotes. We need a blowout today for that reason. Marco and Rod need minimal time today, to get themselves better. We need them right for the big game on Tuesday.
  3. IU-Purdue tip off here at 2:30. This is going to be kind of weird, because now the rivalry has officialy lost two of its biggest proponents: Bob Knight and Gene Keady. IU shouldn't have a problem with this game, but records usually go out the door against the rival. These games are always close. It'd be huge for IU to take care of this, because it could move us into a tie with Wiscy at the top of the Big Ten. Ben Allen's going to be starting for the second straight game, with the regulars; hopefully he can stay out of foul trouble today and light it up.
  4. QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Jan 21, 2006 -> 09:47 AM) Chauncey. BbBBBbBBbBillups!
  5. I copied them straight from what was layed out. I didn't have access to the PM'd nominations.
  6. You could have nominated him. I don't get why people are complaining about who's on the ballot. YOU guys nominated the people on the ballot.
  7. QUOTE(chitownsportsfan @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 08:00 PM) Best in the league offense? You have to be kidding me. The Yankees will have the best offense in the league, no questions asked. Their pitching sucks, but the offense will be amazing. Greasywheels, are you referring to the position of Gooch in the 2 hole and Uribe in the 9, or the offense in general? Because the offense in general was broke for most of 2005. Under league average in OBP, OPS, and runs. I agree though that there is really no good reason to move Gooch out of the two hole for Uribe. Uribe is free swinging by nature--unless he suddenly turns into even a bad aproximation of Ted Williams up there, the Sox won't be getting much use out of him in the two hole. I was talking about their positions in the lineup.
  8. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 06:58 PM) I agree. If he's dedicated to focusing on a certain approach, I wouldn't exactly dismiss the notion. In the playoffs he became an entirely different hitter. More relaxed, more patient. Not as if Uribe is playing for a contract, as Iguchi certaintly is. I wonder if Iguchi himself or his agent have requested a move into a position which allows an opportunity for better power numbers. If the decision doesn't work in spring training or the beginning of the season, simply switch Iguchi and Uribe. If Iguchi is producing at his spot in the order and Uribe continues to struggle, then you may have a problem. We still do have that option for Iguchi's 3rd year. I can't imagine us not retaining him if he has another year like last.
  9. All your's. I don't get into this stuff too much.
  10. QUOTE(maggsmaggs @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 05:30 PM) Salvador Sanchez? My AAP! QUOTE(Heads22 @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 06:39 PM) You guys are thinking of Aaron Cunningham. My AAP! I would think it would be Aaron too, being that he's the one that did move up. Sanchez started hot, but that was very temporary.
  11. http://whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/news/ar...t=.jsp&c_id=cws The article's longer than that, but that's the spot that stood out to me. We all kind of speculated about this. It'll be interesting to see how successful this is, and how long Ozzie will give it. I'm sure Iguchi could produce better in a different spot in the lineup, but that's one thing with the Sox where you can really say "You don't fix what ain't broke."
  12. This isn't Artest. I don't think Davis would lose any "street cred" for apologizing. Davis is one of the most respected players in the league off the court. He's the president of the players union for that reason.
  13. This isn't going anywhere good. This needs to be closed for a bit.
  14. Gotta start early if you want to win that 2006 Flamed Award.
  15. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 04:34 PM) IMO, it definitely follows the Office Space theme. You haven't seen it..? I saw the British, original one on DVD at a friend's a year ago, and it was too dry for me. I never bothered watching the American version. I really don't keep up with much of the primetime TV anyways. I'll catch the syndicated stuff at random times, but I don't have much of a TV watching schedule.
  16. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 04:12 PM) I'm aware, and not confused. Just took the opportunity to mention I saw the (mildly similar) show The Office last night... Fair enough. I don't watch the NBC show, but if there was an Office Space show, I'd be all about it.
  17. QUOTE(Steff @ Jan 20, 2006 -> 03:58 PM) I just watched a complete episode of the TV show last night. I laughed till I had tears in my eyes. As for the movie.. I can't remember. I'll have to watch it again over the weekend and get back to ya. You must confusing the NBC show "The Office" with the movie "Office Space." Totally different characters and stories.
  18. You guys didn't nominate him, and even if he was, he's not a poster here anymore.
  19. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=2299677 If the Davis' apologize, he'll drop the suit.
  20. ESPN had 2 fans that were nearby the incident saying a completely different story. The fan was getting pissed off because she would get up and cheer everytime the Knicks would score or something. He said something to her w/ an expletive, and that's when she started getting in his face.
  21. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncw/recap?gameId=260190238 Pat Summitt gets win #900. That's an insane number.
