Sox just need to avoid a sweep in Cleveland, and their chances of winning the division are very high. A sweep gives Cleveland 3 games in the standings, plus the tiebreaker. Essentially, 3.5 games gained for Cleveland in one series. 1 Sox win ensures Cleveland can only gain a max of 1 game in the standings, and gives the Sox the tiebreaker. Essentially only 0.5 games gained for Cleveland in one series, even if they win 2 out of 3.

Big opportunity for the Sox to build some separation tonight in the standings. Astros sit 3.5 back of the sox for the coveted 2-seed.
