  1. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) I suspect it's not B-Mac that needs to be worrying. It's Garland. Id rather lose Contreras and give Garland his contract next season. Youth > Age
  2. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 07:56 AM) Hey, when you finally get to sit on the throne, you better act like a f***ing king. Post of the century right there.
  3. Im taking a wait and see attitude on this one. Ive heard good and bad things about Vazquez so time will tell on that one. Viz was useless for this team, Duque is on his last legs and even though Young is supposedly a stud a prospect is just exactly that until he performs.
  4. QUOTE(Queen Prawn @ Dec 14, 2005 -> 06:24 AM) And they lose to the Canes! I was up in Phoenix back on the 3rd and they got stomped on by the Coyotes. That was fun to watch. LOL
  5. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) That's the funniest thing I've read all day... BUT A quick google search to find the source... tells me it's the Weekly World News. I wonder if this was bat boy trying to date bat mom. Normally Id laugh and dismiss the Weekly World News outright but this story is certainly plausible.
  6. QUOTE(Iwritecode @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 04:20 PM) Is jailtime even a deterrent anymore? Seems to me when people commit a crime they aren't thinking about getting caught much less the punishment they'll have to face... Very true. I guess we should stop incarcerating people too since the deterrent effect isin't there. Maybe bribing criminals to behave would work better. :rolly
  7. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 02:05 PM) Would that be Jesus' take as well? I'd assume so if man is going to take it upon himself to play God and sanction the murder of convicted felons. You want to play the religon game then explain how people who didn't worship the same God were the subjects of genocide? Obviously their lives were worth less than the lives of the chosen ones.
  8. Good Riddance How so? Yeah. People want the condemned to pay for what he did Sorry jackasses, people with sense remember them as vicious criminals not martyrs Only because in its current form its a joke Good
  9. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) ok, but that's not how it works. It takes 10 years or more most of the time to get through the "system". Which is why the appeals process needs to be drastically shortened. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) How about, we just behead these son's a b****es who shoot people on the head, Al Zarqawi style. Thats going overboard. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) How about, we just cut the dicks off the guys who rape women? No. Lethal Injection works and is less messy. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) While we're at it, let's do all this on public TV, right away, because after all, it's all about JUSTICE. Id watch. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) And then, what about those cases where the "system" is wrong? That doesn't matter, because justice has been served. It does matter, which is why we need to utilize the forsenic technology we have to ensure we got the right guy. A lot of these people who are getting acquited of capital crimes were arrested and sentenced when DNA and like technology did not exist. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 01:01 PM) Ugh. We're pretty much savages. No we're not, the criminals are and need to be treated as such.
  10. QUOTE(Soxy @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 01:02 PM) But what's the ultimate goal of all those things? What is accomplished by doing that? Does it actually help the vic's family? I've heard mixed things. The stepmom of one of his murder victims sure seems to approve based on her quotes.
  11. QUOTE(Soxy @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Revenge? Make an example? Peace to the victim's family? All of the above.
  12. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 12:54 PM) Let me ask this. Do you soxtalkers think that murders will RISE if we got rid of the death penalty? Or to say it another way - how much of a deterrent is the death penalty? I personally think it's NOT a deterrent at all. If you're crazy enough to kill someone, then you're crazy enough to not give a crap if you die. Therefore, the death penalty isn't doing anything to keep crime down, so why sanction government killing? Like Ive said a million times already. If we gave murder 1 and other serious violent crimes a manditory death sentence and then had the balls to carry out sentencing in a timely fashion there would be a deterrent factor.
  13. QUOTE(Soxy @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 10:10 AM) I just want to know how it put something right. I'm asking this really genuinely, because I want to know exactly what this solved. If you're going to respond with sarcastic comments or smileys just don't bother answering. I'm serious, I want to know what this put right. Read my post please. I said killing him DIDN'T put things right, but its a start.
  14. QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 09:54 AM) As the the de facto leader of the Pissy People, I still think it's a lot better this way. Readers can ignore entire threads that either don't interest them or anger them, and you don't have to wade through two dozen topics to follow a single thread topic. Agreed. SLaP is just fine as it is right now.
  15. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 09:34 AM) *sigh* I understand why you all are so gung ho happy about this guy getting killed. He's scum. But aren't you people even the least little bit remorseful that we had to kill anyone to begin with? I hate the thought of killing someone because they killed people. It's just killing to justify killing. And I think that's wrong. "What if it was MY family?" Yea, I'd be pissed off. And I'd probably want that person dead. But it sure doesn't make it right. No. No. No. Tookie got off easy. They should have fired up old sparky and had a tookie barbecue at San Quentin. Killing Tookie doesn't put things right..........but its a start. EDIT: They need to find that rapist son of his and finish him as well.
  16. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 09:08 AM) If memory serves me correctly, that was Iraq. Previous to 1979, Iran actually had fairly warm relations with Israel as far as that region is concerned, given the Shah's cozy relationship with the U.S. Iran did become more aggressive in 1979-1980 under the new leadership of the Islamists and threatened and did in fact help provoke the Iran/Iraq war throughout the 1980s. Correct on all counts.
  17. I went on the NAACP's website last night and they had this online petition up urging mercy for s***bag Tookie. Anyway I looked at the signatures and they were all a bunch of profane, "kill tookie" messages. LOL!!! I couldnt resist taking a couple of swipes myself. TOO FUNNY!
  18. QUOTE(Texsox @ Dec 13, 2005 -> 07:12 AM) And I will give you this, I believe the population is in favor of killing people. I wish we had more of a Roman spectacle about it. Perhaps have a giant stadium and allow the fans to vote thumbs up or thumbs down. Now that would be a deterrent. You want to mention the Romans? They should have fed tookie to the lions. Lethal injection was going too soft on this guy.
  19. http://www.bsnews.org/opinions/010 My face turned beet red I was laughing so hard at this.
  20. Stepmom of one of the victims speaks.
  21. QUOTE(SoCalSouthSider59 @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 11:20 PM) More countdowns to come too......... Hopefully many more.
  22. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) Wow. A countdown to death. Classy. I've never defended this asshat. But anyone jumping for joy over the death of someone is always sad. About as classy as 2 12 guage slugs to the back while lying face down......... Or killing 3 people in a motel room over less than 100 dollars............... Or poisoning 2 generations and counting of black youths......... and on........and on......and on.......
  23. QUOTE(Nokona @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 10:18 PM) Tommorow should be fun in the hood. Anyone who incites a riot over this s***bags death should join him.
  24. QUOTE(CubKilla @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 10:06 PM) Hopefully his upcoming death is as painful as the suffering his victims and his victims families went through...... though I know it won't be. Thats too bad. But dont worry, he has a whole s***load of homies waiting in hell to rip him apart .......... over and over again..........for all eternity.
  25. QUOTE(Pauly8509CWS @ Dec 12, 2005 -> 10:02 PM) They arent alleged anymore, they are his victims, since he was convicted. Anyway, did anyone see how many copies of his book he sold? 300 copies. Yeah, his message is reaaaaallllllllllyy getting out there. LOL! Someone mentioned that earlier on. Like I said I bet you Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton went halves on most of em last week. HAHA!
