  1. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 10:57 PM) BBTN gets paid for loud, louder and the loudest comments. Keep in mind that the highlights of every game you watch on BBTN that shows the player with the best catch or hit, automatically that player becomes the next superstar. It doesn't matter which commentator it is either. Not true at all. They get paid to suck Yankee, Red Sox and Flubbie dick night and night out cause that's where they percieve their main viewer base as coming from.
  2. He had a career .258 average. Impeccable qualifications for an ESPN analyst.
  3. QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 07:40 PM) Dye appears to still be killing us. LOL Soooooooooo true.
  4. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 08:21 PM) Personally I find it useless to even discuss ESPN's coverage of baseball. It is obvious that they are going to begin every highlight show, whether it be Sports Center or BBTN, with highlights of the Yankees followed closely with the Red Sox. I am fine with who they cover because they have a large following for those teams around the country. The problem they have to me is a bunch of worthless idiots discussing baseball. Harold Reynolds? What makes this guy qualified to discuss baseball? What did he ever win or accomplish? As I've said before, he should stick to the Little League World Series broadcasts. Jeff Brantley? Same questions apply for this guy as well. He is quick to analyze things he has no clue about. John Kruk? Shouldn't he be managing a Krispy Kreme? Seriously this guy is as clueless as they come. Steve Phillips? This guy was one of the worst GMs ever in major league baseball, yet he latches on as a baseball analyst? Larry Bowa? A fiery guy who never really "got it" as a manager....Ideal ESPN analyst. Hey ESPN, hire some people who have actually accomplished something in their careers and are qualified to speak rather than a bunch of rambling idiots. Just some food for thought. ESPN doesn;t want anyone who knows anything about baseball. All they want are a bunch of washed up losers who dont mind sucking some Yankee or BoSox cock and dont care about integrity or calling it like they see it.
  5. QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 06:46 PM) thats a bunch of crap, they've both been good for us this year and kept us in the games and yeah, for the last couple outings they've gotten high pitch counts fast, but chill, its the beginning of the season and so far things are working out for us. COUNT and DUKE.... YES! One earned run or not a start where a guy walks 6 batters and throws 110 pitches and barely squeaks through 5 innings is NOT a quality start at all. He better tighten his s*** up or he's gonna have a real bad day and sooner rather than later.
  6. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Zitop has thrown well his last two starts and has had great success agains the Sox in his career including last year with a good outing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for two wins. As hot as Garland, MB and Garcia are right now I'd take them over any other 3 starters in MLB. We just have to go execute and we'll get at least 2 of 3.
  7. SnR is still undefeated in 2005 Keep up the good work guys!!!
  8. QUOTE(Reddy @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 03:27 PM) you want winning ugly that was winning ugly... good god, but hell i'll take it! Anytime you have Contreras or Duque on the mound you know its gonna be ugly but I'll take a win any way I can get it.
  9. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 03:09 PM) How in the hell did we win this game????? 4 errors and a scrub ass lineup? I dont believe it either but a win is a motherf***ing win. 15 & 4 BABY!!! 4 GAMES UP IN FIRST.
  10. QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 02:57 PM) Ozuna -- I salute you. Huge hit off the bench, and playing first -- for the first time in his career. Here's to Pablo. f***ing clutch!!! WTG Pablo!!!!
  11. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 02:08 PM) Holy cow, our 4th error of the game. It will only get uglier as we go to Oakland tomorrow. No. Garland is pitching tomorrow and we won;t be throwing out our scrubs so we'll be fine.
  12. 4 f***ing errors already. Good f***ing lord.
  13. Duque is painful to watch. I dont care if he isin't giving up many runs, he's straight UGLY to watch. That's gonna bite him in the ass when we start playing real teams.
  14. QUOTE(fathom @ Apr 24, 2005 -> 01:43 PM) Can we please release Timo? He's just a terrible player. He sucks......now it's 2-1 on another b**** hit.
  15. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) I couldn't give a damn what he says. In fact when I woke up Friday and flicked on Comcast and saw all his bleeps I started laughing my balls off. Anyone have a link to some video of this. I really would like to see it.
  16. QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 10:22 PM) Great news for us is that Contreras' next start would be on April 28th, which is an off day. They could just go with El Duque on April 29th and so on, and hopefully Contreras would be healthy enough to make his start on May 4th. That would give him 10 days to rest. Once again fortune smiles on the ChiSox. This is a non-issue especially since we won.
  17. QUOTE(elrockinMT @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 12:59 PM) Jay M's column might be trash, but in response to Ozzie's comments about Magglio I would have to say he has gone to far. You don't make comments about bleeping someone over, etc. That seems to be threats instead of just livewire springjawing by Ozzie. Not good in my opinion and he needs to apologize. Just carrying on the way Ozzie does is not all that bad though. http://www.suntimes.com/output/sox/cst-spt-doug23.html Here's what the players think about Oz and his mouth. You tell me which is more important.
  18. QUOTE(aboz56 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:57 AM) With all of the national discussion the past few days over Ozzie's comments, I figured it's time for a poll to ask whether or not Sox fans have a problem with his comments. I for one have no problem with the Ordonez comments, simply because the guy deserved exactly what he got for opening his yap. THe Frank Thomas comments for some of you may have been another story. Bottom line, do you have a problem with Ozzie's mouth? Vote and discuss. I have no problem whatsoever. This is such a refershing change from kiss ass Uncle Jerry. We now have a manager with a set between his legs & a real plan for the team. Oz is the best thing to happen to White Sox baseball since Frank Thomas.
  19. QUOTE(SoxFan1 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 08:55 PM) No no no....I'm not singling anyone out. I'm saying in general. Marte wasn't too great today but he got it done. I don't think Marte Partay gets quite a fair shake these days. I'd certainly like to see him get more involved cause I don't think he's getting enough work.
  20. QUOTE(LowerCaseRepublican @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 10:28 PM) Nuke, the guy who wrote the Vietnam stuff is a Vietnam combat veteran. Allow me to put that in bold and repeat it again for you and CK Vietnam combat veteran. His research was peer reviewed quite successfully from many different aspects of the historical academic community (and yes, before you ask, that includes conservatives). Yes and a lot of the people saying the Holacaust never happened worked in Auchwitz and other death camps. Just because this moron didn't see it doesn't mean that it didn't happen.
  21. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 02:37 AM) Of course, the holocost is only a myth too. :rolly There's plenty of "research" and "facts" that say it never happened.......they all must be true.
  22. QUOTE(soxfan420 @ Apr 23, 2005 -> 07:49 PM) it looks like he was throwing a hell of a game too 6k's to 1 bb. It was a shame to see him come out so early cause he really had it working. Oh well. We still won and the injury appears to be pretty minor so we'll live.
