  1. QUOTE(RegionSox @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:10 PM) Just slightly off topic, Nuke, I think you should do the same number of shots as Crede has homeruns, ex when he hits number 3 take 3 shots. That could make the game pretty interesting. It could be the Joe Crede drinking game Oh hell no. I'm not doing 20-25 shots a night come this summer. I'll throw the board a bone though. If Crede breaks the DiMaggio hitting streak I'll kill a bottle of Jack in 1 evening. AND do play by play of me getting schwacked on Soxtalk chat. LOL!!!!!
  2. BIATCH deserved a lot worse than that for what she did.
  3. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:02 PM) Whats more fun? Winning the division. Finally dethroning the Twins. Prooving the media wrong about the Sox. The pennant. The world series. To name a few. I agree in principle but it's all about instant gratification. LOL!!! I cant wait to school these mofo's when we face off.
  4. QUOTE(RegionSox @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 08:01 PM) Yeah, when people outside Chicago hear "Sox" they automatically think Red Sox. I'm not sure why though. They haven't won that much more than we have and Boston is sure as hell not a bigger city. Thats cause of the Eastern Sports Promotion Network. Cut and dried.
  5. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:59 PM) I help lead the chant but don't blame me, blame miller lite. That's a big part of it. Hey, after a win it's a party atmosphere and if we gotta rip the Cubs-so be it And whats more fun than ripping on that little b****-made motherf***er Kerry Wood?
  6. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:58 PM) Maybe I just haven't had enough to drink. I mean no offense, guys. Its all good dude.
  7. QUOTE(RegionSox @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:56 PM) I think the whole anti-Cubs attitude you see is from the fact that all we see and hear about concerning baseball in Chicago is about the Cubs. Even outside of Chicago. I'm down on a business trip in Midland TX of all places and I've counted 6 or 7 people in Cubs hats. Maybe we've begun to define everything about Sox baseball in comparison to the Cubs because of our constant exposure to it. I havent lived in Chicago since 1998. Everywhere I've been since when people find out I'm from Chicago they ask me "Are you a Cubs fan?". I hate that s***!!! It pisses me off that this bunch of overhyped, choking, whiny BIATCHES gets so much publicity.
  8. QUOTE(soxman352000 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:54 PM) Hes so bad I laugh out loud every night. My God what previous broadcasting experience has he had? He could work for ESPN if he wanted to......he'd fit right in over there.
  9. Boston f***ing Gammons probably crying his eyes out right about now. His little pet player NOMAH just got carried off the field with a groin injury. LOL!!!!
  10. QUOTE(Y2HH @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:46 PM) Posts like this are why Cub fans say Sox fans are obsessed with the Cubs. WHO CARES ABOUT KERRY f***ING WOOD AND THE CUBS. WHO REALLY CARES WHAT FLUBBS FANS THINK!?!??!?!? That's my question.

  12. QUOTE(daa84 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:37 PM) please, i despise kerry wood as much as most, but garland has thrown 3 games this year. dont forget he had a 4.8 ERA last year. hopefully hes turning things around but dont say stupid things just to bash the cubs Garland is 3-0 Wood sucks Eat my s***!!! 13. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:29 PM) He went down HARD and fast after hitting a ball at the plate. As he went to run down the first base line, he took a really akward stride and appeared to do some damage to his groin. He couldn't even get up. He just layed two feet away from the plate. He had to be carried off the field.......he's gonna be out for a while. Yet another nail in the coffin for the Flubbs.
  14. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:34 PM) Well now that you mention it; PWNED!!!!!!!!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!!

  16. QUOTE(Tony82087 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 07:28 PM) Really, Really, REALLY liking what I am seeing out of Jon this season. He really looks like he could win 16, 17 this season. Mark Freddy and Jon all possibly, and most likely all getting 15+ wins this season?? Are ya kidding me??? Like I said before.......he's on a mission this year. JON = 20 GAME WINNER?!?!?!
  17. SUCK IT FLUBBS!!!!!!! OUR 5TH STARTER IS BETTER THAN YOUR ACE. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHA
  18. QUOTE(robinventura23 @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 06:42 PM) JOE CREDE!!!!!! 11 GAME HITTING STREAK That's good for a shot of JACK DANIELS!!!
  19. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 05:40 PM) Now, I'm making this thread during the top of the second of tonight's game; so, if Garland tanks, you could blame it on me. Having watched Jon pitch a little over two games, I've developed a level of confidence in young Jon that I never had previous to this season. He has looked nothing short of spectacular. I'll be the first to admit I've been hard on Jon in the past and that, of course, was for a couple of reasons. First, I was bothered by his California-cool and lack of tenacity on the mound. I felt he pitched with no emotion on the mound, and although that could be very dangerous for a pitcher--especially a young one-- I felt he needed to get pissed out there. Second, I was driven near the brink of insanity with his inconsistency. One outing he looked fantastic, and the next he got lit up in the second inning. That said, I think the single most motivating factor for my frustration with Jon had to do with his immaturity. When he was blaming others for his misfortunes on the mound, I lost a great deal of respect for him...this happened on more than a few occasions. Top all of that off with amazing projections coming out of the minor league system and you had reason for frustration. He just seemed to flirt with greatness out there and was never able to make that final push. This year, I have taken a complete 180 on him. In fact, I think I have a higher level of confidence in Jon that I do Freddy, Contreras and El Duque. Dare I say breakout year? Count me down as a major Garland backer this season. If the Sox are going to make any noise in the post-season, we are going to have to have some career years and Jon might be the guy to lead the charge. Who's with me? I've given Garland plenty of s*** here over the last couple of years but he's on a mission this year. I think he totally has a chance to breakout this year cause there's no pressure on him at all.
  20. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 06:27 PM) 6-1 Good guys. Dye with a huge night, Jon dealing. Its about time he got it going. We need his bat.
  21. Didn't I say we were gonna PWN these slugs?! HAHAHA I love this s***!!!
  22. QUOTE(Wong & Owens @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 01:24 PM) http://www.bat-girl.com/ Reading that trash was the biggest waste of 30 seconds I ever hope to have.
  23. QUOTE(retro1983hat @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 12:15 PM) Keith Folke's slow pitch gets the hitters in 2000 and after that he gets drilled. When did he get drilled after 2000? http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/stats/ml...rLocator=Foulke I know he had some rough patches in 2002 thanks mainly to Jerry Manuel and his stupidity but the career stats speak for themselves.
  24. QUOTE(Wedge @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:44 AM) Maybe Ozzie learned from what shook out with Koch last year. That's a good sign of a manager, that when his decisions lead to bad results, he changes the decisions he makes. "Insanity is repeating the same experiment with the same parameters and expecting different results." -Albert Einstein In Ozzie's defense we were paying Botch an insane amount of money and I think there might have been some pressure from the front office to make that square peg fit in the round hole.
  25. QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 20, 2005 -> 09:12 AM) I'm more inclined to give the guy that's done the job for the Sox the benefit of the doubt, with a short leash. That said, I think DH will eventually be the closer, but Shingo has earned the right to try and get his s*** together. If it was only 1 or 2 bad outings Id be more inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt based on the reasons you used but this is getting to be a nasty habit with him. If OZ hadn't been giving him the hook as quickly as he had his record would be a lot worse and so would the teams.
