4/18/05 Official Game Thread: Sox vs. Cakes
NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to BridgeportHeather's topic in 2005 Season in Review
QUOTE(The Critic @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 10:17 PM) The best part is, if the Sox win the first two games of THIS series, we won't have to worry about a sweep.... All I know is Contreras and Duque better not walk 9 batters between the 2 of em like they did last time or we'll be lucky not to get swept ourselves. -

QUOTE(Steff @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 09:05 AM) Duly noted.. Me.. I just don't see the point in b****ing and whining about not getting media coverage.. Boo hoo... manage the team and stop crying about the unfair media treatment. JMO.. Even though he's right? -
QUOTE(mreye @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 08:57 AM) Why do we ever care about this? We care because we want the fans to come out and support their team whenever they can. They need us to be out there cheering and making a ton of noise.

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2005 -> 08:45 AM) The first thing I thought was "I wonder when his next movie is coming out?" I'm still waiting for leftist twits like him, George Soros, Barbara Streisand, George Clooney......etc....etc... to flee the country for France or Canada like they promised to when Bush won re-election. I still wouldn't like any of them but at least they'd score some points for integrity with me. I wont hold my breath.

I always loved it when he tried to shoot 3's. I think he did it just to act crazy but every now and again one would drop. Same went for whenever he went to the free throw line. That was always an adventure. -

QUOTE(Soxfest @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 06:48 PM) I will take 2 of 3 all yr long 90 plus wins It aint gonna be that way all year. We need to learn how to finish a team off, especially a weaker team like Cleveland or Seattle. -
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 09:11 AM) If we're going to use, "Well, our number two hitter is still getting adjusted to America" as an excuse, maybe he shouldn't be hitting in the two spot... he seems to be doing just fine to me.
-
QUOTE(Allsox @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 05:46 PM) I say switch Dye with Rowand....At least Aaron's putting the ball into play and Dye isn't doing much of anything right now....If Dye's still hitting below .200 when Frank's ready, drop Dye outta the lineup and put Carl out in RF....I know Jermaine's hit a couple of clutch HRs but the 5 hitter can't keep going 0 - 4....Whatcha guys think? No no no.. Carl does NOT need to be playing the field unless its a dire emergency. The last time he played out there proved that.

QUOTE(Cloudyguy09 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 11:17 PM) their poll is bogus, Through two weeks, which team's start is most surpiring? Dodgers 8-2, Nationsals 7-4, Yankees 4-7, Mets 6 game winning streak after 0-5 start. Where are the white sox 8-3 winning every series it makes me a lil bit mad that the white sox arn't being noticed thats all What????? You're surprised we're a winning team? :rolly
-
QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 04:42 PM) There's no such thing as a jinx you fruit-cakes. Do you guys honestly think that something some guy posts on a message board affects whether the White Sox win or lose? :rolly You'd be surprised LOL!

QUOTE(qwerty @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 03:59 PM) Am i the only one that wanted willie to tag on the fly ball to the warning track? He probably should have. I have to eat one though. I called for him to steal in the chat and he did. f***!!!!!!! Now lets go get Minny. -

Come on boys lets do some damage and get this damn sweep!!!! -
QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Apr 17, 2005 -> 02:32 PM) What the f*** is it with sweeps... I dont know but they were talking about this on SnR last time. Every time we get 2 wins in a series people start making these threads before the game and it jinxes us every time.......at least this season. From now on lets keep it quiet ok.

Minny already lost today so if we win we're back in 1st by ourselves again. -
QUOTE(Rowand44 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 03:32 PM) Obviously it's very early but it amuzes me how the sox and twins have already seperated themselves from the rest of the division. It's so cool that morons like Harold Reynolds have to eat s*** now that the Tigers are stinking up the joint.
-
QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 10:43 AM) Meh, that's dissappointing. But, I wasn't there, so I'm not gonna b**** and moan. We keep on winning, that park will be rockin' every night. Todays was much better. 25,931 paid.
-
QUOTE(DonkeyKongerko @ Apr 16, 2005 -> 01:47 PM) Wow, that game is a no-hitter if Ichiro isn't in the lineup. 12 strikeouts is still 8 less than Kerry Wood's career high... Itchy-roll is a pain in the ass to everyone. The key is to shut down his buddies and MB did that in fine fashion. Great outing.
-
WHAT A PERFORMANCE!!!!!!! 12 K'S 3 HITS WOO HOO!!!!!!!!!
-
Chop Suey warming up in the bullpen.... If MB doesn't start the 9th I'm gonna be PISSED!!!!
