Give Crede 3 or 400 AB's and he might get his swing down. -

QUOTE(CWSGuy406 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 04:31 PM) GMAFB. At least let him pitch poorly before you bash him... :rolly If he has a quality start I'm totally clowning on Los Medias Blancas -
Not just Shingo having a rough go.

QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 07:30 AM) Trevor Hoffman got lit up also a couple of days ago. Larry Bowa thinks its because closers don't get enough work in spring training. They don't get their arms stretched out and are missing their spots. He thinks everyone, including Shingo, will be fine after they get some more work. That's an excellent point that everybody around here missed. -

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 01:07 AM) Heather's Fearless Prediction: JON shows up instead of JUDY! Hopefully we wont have to ask that question every time he goes out on the mound this season. -

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) I don't know if any of you have noticed this; but, his defense never was the same once Sugar Ray got traded to San Francisco. Durham made Jose a better fielder (and sometimes made UP for his blunders). Anyways, here's hoping that he blasts the Cubs this year when the teams meet. Hell, I'll even root for Carlos Lee when he faces the Flubbs. -
QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 01:03 AM) Hows cleveland doing? 3 game losing streak and desperately clinging to the 8th seed.

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:57 AM) I'm thinking more along the lines of rainbow-colored flags. This IS the north side we're talking about here.

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) I don't even wanna KNOW what goes on behind closed doors in THAT locker room! Couldn't be as bad as last year with the one guy corking his bats and another pissing on hands.
-
QUOTE(sox-r-us @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:52 AM) Your Chicago White Sox are atop the division alone at 3-1 Now let's hope they maintain this top spot throughout the year and never look bad Its cool we're in the lead but I dont really look at standings until Memorial Day or so.

I just now saw the replay of the Konerko bomb. That was a total LAUNCH job. That sucker had to have landed 30 rows up in the LF stands. Kong is totally destroying the ball so far this season. -
QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:43 AM) Our Bulls definateley will have a "nothing to lose, all to gain" attitude come playoff time. Im tired of all the Lebron hype too. All he ever does is whine to the refs for calls all game every game. The NBA is still looking for another Jordan.........and not finding one.
-
QUOTE(rangercal @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) No way chicago plays .500 basketball No way they have a winning record in Feb No way They they go on 5 , 7, and 9 game winning streaks this year No way they dont have a losing record vs the west No way they they win without deng No way they get homecourt in the 1st round No way they reach the 3rd best record in the conference Book it. Oh Wait........................... PWN3GE!!!!!!

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:40 AM) Had to laugh at Stoney's comments about Hawkins after the game .... "he's a good set up man, but as a closer, he's a good set up man." Leave it to good old Stoney to tell it like it is. LOL!!!!! -
QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:37 AM) Well, on CSN's Sports Nite, they interviewed Stern, and he said he's pulling for our team. I did find it odd that ESPN didn't mention us in there little "blurb" though. I was waiting to hear "but, Chicago's in it, so the ratings won't take as big of a beating," and couldn't believe no mention was made of it. I think the whole Lebron hype is way overrated. Right now, that Cleveland organization is in total disarray that they wouldn't draw very high ratings if they DO make the playoffs. I don't see Cleveland making the playoffs, though, as New Jersey's been too hot down the stretch, and will pass them in a few more days. I do find it weird that Cleveland actually LED us a couple of weeks back...Oh, how the tables have turned. It's great for our Bulls to be going in to the playoffs on a hot streak instead of "backing in," like the Blackhawks did back in 2001-2002. The 01-02 Blackhawks were a fluke team, a lot like the 2001 Bears. This team is a young club that has nothing but upside.

I'll defenitely be listening. SnR RULES!!!!! We need to fill up the chat room too! -
QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:29 AM) No way Chicago beats Miami or Detroit in a 7 game series. Book it. Tsk Tsk. When the playoffs start all records are 0-0 and anything can happen. The Bulls have a ton of heart and the Pistons or Heat might not take them seriously enough.

QUOTE(Jabroni @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:16 PM) So it's not LaTroya's fault that he choked and gave up a single and a double back-to-back with 2 outs? Cough, Cough!!! LaChoy blows ass and everyone knows it. Its so fun to see Dusty stand there and try to defend him. I wonder what gets said to this chump behind closed doors in the locker room.
-
Jusst watched "LaChoy" Hawkins blow another save Just saw Foulke implode in Boston Wickman got plastered the other day Someone on BBTN was commenting that closers around the whole leauge have been snakebitten. Looks like it's not just a Chicago thing.

QUOTE(BridgeportHeather @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:21 AM) Does everyone realize that we're the biggest market in the playoffs this year? I still think that most of the basketball world still thinks of Jordan and Pippen and the old days when they think of us. The thing of it is that we dont have any real household names, just a bunch of lunchpail kind of guys that go out and play the game. Not that thats a bad thing. No rape charges, no intra-team fighting, a winning record. Its all good!!!
-
And that's a White Sox winner!!!

QUOTE(YASNY @ Apr 8, 2005 -> 11:58 PM) That make 4 quality starts in for 4 games. As far as starting pitching goes, so far so good. Here's hoping Garland can get out there tomorrow and guy out another strong outing. If he's not ready though I do like the idea of switching him and Burhle. -

QUOTE(WilliamTell @ Apr 9, 2005 -> 12:02 AM) I'm glad they're loving him, but he is no Beltran. They'll figure that out soon. Yeah, right about the time that NL pitching figures out that Valentin can't hit a curveball to save his life. -
I guess we know for sure now who was really carrying that team. LOL!!!
