Ok, maybe the asshole part was a bit over the top but he does suck balls. I stand by the tee ball stand remark I made.

More Incriminating Steroid Evidence
NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to 1549's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
McGwire had a really bad knee. It was almost sad to see him wince in pain as he tried to run the bases toward the end there. He wasn't a roid freak, of that I'm convinced. He did do Andro but there was nothing illegal about it at the time. -
Last time we got Jon & he was screwed out of a win when he deserved it. Lets see if he can get us back on track tomorrow after the way that tee ball stand Felix Diaz got slapped around.
-
The temptation was pretty great to quit on a slug like that. He was totally worthless.

I wasn't terribly optimistic about this evenings game cause the Sox scored 11 runs yesterday but today was rediculous. I lost count of how many popups they hit to short right field tonight & me and CubKilla called it when Gload hit the obligatory meaningless solo HR with the game out of reach. Right now this team has no heart & no balls. At the bar we were at they had the Minnesota / Toronto game on next to the Sox game & that was totally the opposite. Toronto was down 5-1 & came back to tie it in the 7th with a 4 spot so what does Minnesota do? They slap a 4 spot of they're own on the board & win the game 9-5. The Sox may have the better team on paper but right now Minnesota has all the heart & a helluva lot more balls than we do & unless we do a really bigtime gutcheck & start playing like we want to win then they are gonna run away with this division.

I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt after his last outing but I'm not so forgiving this evening. The Injuns used him for freekin batting practice tonight. Seemed to me like every other pitch was being hit like a rope somewhere. If he didnt open his locker & find a 1 way greyhound ticket to Birmingham there's something really wrong with this organization. Seems to me that until we get serious about finding a 5th starter we need to just put one of these out there every 5th day cause that's what it seems like with these scrubs they're bringing up here.

Carbs are only a problem for those who eat lots of them and dont exercise. I eat whatever the hell I want & whenever I want it & I havent budged more than plus/minus 5 lbs in the last 4 years.
-
I'm sure there are people that are going to start dumping all over Willie Harris if he hits a bad stretch but I think he's the real deal.
-
A-Row is a pretty good defensive center fielder but he hasn't hit worth a lick since he's been here. Last season I was big on the "Let him play everyday and see what happens" but he's had a chance to play most every day since the beginning of the season & he hasn't hit anything. Until he figures out what's wrong & starts swinging the bat better then he's a defensive replacement in the late innings & not much more.
-
I dont know where you're from but around here its called pop. Soda is what the folks in the northeast call it.

We need to go out there & sweep these scrubs. Nothing like getting back on track against a weak division rival. Lets go out there & hammer em for 3 straight & pick up some momentum. My screen name here speaks for itself.

Which Cubs SUCK shirt is better
NUKE_CLEVELAND replied to bo_chi_sox's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I have a write in candidate. I own a shirt that has "Sosa Lumber Company" on the front with the lumber crossed out & CORK in its place. On the back the Cub logo has Cork instead of Cubs. PRICELESS!!! -
Yeah, he has had 26 runs to work with in his last 2 starts. He also got screwed by the offense once this year and again by the pen. Seems like it's all or nothing with run support with him. I'd like to see them get MB 5-6 runs every time out and let him run with it.
-
His job is to win ballgames for us not to pad his personal stats to enhance his chances of making the hall. I want to see him make it too but not at the expense of us winning ballgames and ultimately the division & the series.
-
I was b****ing the most and I went to 2 so I back mself up pretty nicely.
-
I think he did get screwed on Saturday night. That pitch was low as hell but one at bad does not an argument make. He wont get any respect from me till he stops worrying about damn homeruns and starts hitting the ball again. When there's RISP we dont need a big wave & a miss, we need a poke out into RF or a smash through the hole at short. Seems to me like the harder he swings the more foolish he looks.
-
One thing this team doesn't need is another shammy soso on the team & that's exactly what he's becomming. Only difference is that Thomas doesn't have s*** for an average.
-
What is up with this guy? If he's not trying to kill every pitch then he's watching while 3 strikes go right past him ( I'm using that one AB of his today as an example ). Thomas was his most dangerous as a hitter when he went with whatever he got. He was dangerous when he was slapping little flares into RF or fighting em off for a little duck snort. He's still drawing a fair mount of walks but his average really sucks & it's falling with each passing day. Someone has to get a hold of this guy & tell him to stop worrying about hitting homeruns & worry about making some solid contact & getting on base.
-
You of all people should know I'm not easily pleased but MB has been a rock for us since his rookie season except for that one bad stretch last season. I'm not easy to please at all when it comes to big money baseball players but I am more than happy to give credit where it is due.
-
http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/recap?gameId=240516118 He goes 7 shutout innings allowing only 2 hits but the pen couldn't hold it down for him. I cant help but be pulling for the Rocket this year. I think it's so kickass that he came back to play one more year not for the Spankmees but for his hometown Astros. BTW. He's 7-0 with a 1.72 ERA so far this season. How's the NL gonna spell Clemems's name this season? C-Y-Y-O-U-N-G.
-
I'd have to say its a toss up between Takatsu and Adkins with the slight edge going to Shingo. Nobody ever talks about Adkins though & I wanted to give him a few props here cause he's done quite well so far for us.

Him & Tom Jackson make a dynamite team on NFL Prime time cause not only do they both know Pro football really well but they are funny as hell to boot. Outside of Pro-football though, Berman doesn't know his ass from a hole in the ground.
-
You know, Chris Berman is great on NFL Priiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiime time but he really needs to stay away from baseball. He is terrible at calling the games & he knows nothing about the sport.
-
That's a tough one because I havent been able to listen to the announcers from every team but if I had to pick from the ones I have heard from I'd have to go with Vin Scully out in LA. He was great when he was with them.
