He wants to do it that way but Uncle Jerry's gonna get his 5 mil worth of games played out of Valentin no matter how many errors & pop-ups on the 1st pitch it costs the team.

A bad as Valentin can be sometimes he's got 5 million reasons per season why he's in the lineup when he should be sitting.

I hope you're kidding. Tonight, Loiaza threw a pretty damn good game giving up 3 in 8 innings work. That's a quality start for sure & he deserved the win IMO. You cant expect the starters to go out there night after night & shut out the opposition. All they should be expected to do is keep a lid on the other team and then let the O do the rest. The O is not doing its part at all & thats, I know I'm being redundant, because they all got Shammy-itis, swinging for the fences constantly & forsaking the base hit or the walk.

Trouble is that we're not playing ozzie ball right now. We're right back to the old Jerry Manuel, swing for the fences (especially on the 1st pitch) & score a couple of runs if we're lucky. Someone needs to take these guys in a room and make them watch the playoff games against the Mariners in 2000 so they learn the value of small-ball.

Myabe it's just me but if your starters only give up 2-3 runs in 7-8 innings that should be good enough for a win dont you think? We gotta start hitting the ball for base hits and stop trying to knock out windows at Robert Taylor Homes every time up to bat. When you're hitting to all fields then the HR's will come naturally.

First of all there was a pretty nice crowd there, almost 33K & Loaiza pitched a pretty damn good game. That's about the extent of the good stuff. The Offense totally f***ing stinks! You need baserunners dammit so stop trying to hit every freekin pitch out to the projects across the interstate and drop in an opposite field single once in a while ok! In fact, nobody looked like they were terribly interested in getting a regular base hit. Most all of the lineup was swinging for the fences. That's been a big rap on this club the last few years & it's not getting any better.

Will his detractors please keep quiet for another 4 days? He pitched a whale of a game even though he was rather shaky in the 1st inning & he really deserved to get a win for his efforts. These 1-0 2-1 losses really piss me off especially after a 15 run explosion like the other night.
