  1. The owner of the Chicago Wolves was so incensed by the officiating in Game 3 of their series with the Admirals that he offered anybody who saved their ticket stub a free pass to game 4. To me that's a class act by the owner.
  2. That's pretty freekin weak if you ask me. We did a pretty fair job of holding the runs against us down but we cant score more than 6 runs for the 3 game set?!?!?! What is up with that nonsense? Something tells me they need to start some extra BP or something cause 6 runs in 3 games aint gonna win you anything.
  3. No evidence to hold him!??!??!?! He had already been linked to the '93 Somalia deal, linked to the embassy bombings, the Kobhar Towers bombings etc etc. I'd say that makes him pretty damn dirty to me.
  4. The trouble with all that is that from what I'm seeing here these appear to be the actions of a select few and not the policy of the whole.
  5. So he did nothing because people would have said bad things about him huh? That looks really good ya know. I'll let terrorists run rampant cause if I try to stop them people will talk s***. Please
  6. Since this obviously the only thread you read recently I have already made some posts regarding the stuff that's dogging Bush lately. Nice try.
  7. CNN/SI has always had a much more realistic set of power rankings than ESPN ever could hope to have. Kudos!
  8. I'm looking to go to one more game this month aside from what I already have planned, if you can confirm this is gonna happen I'll come by and say Hi.
  9. Yeah, when's he gonna channel that "passion" into better performances?
  10. Lost in the shuffle over the prison scandal was the 9-11 hearings which are still ongoing and wow, guess what? Bill Clinton had "multiple opportunities" to get Bin Laden as late as 2000 and sat on evidence that linked him to the Mogadishu street fight with the Rangers in 1993. Go try to blame Bush for 9-11 but as the planning for 9-11 neared completion during the last year of the Clinton Administration the whole thing could have been stopped and it didn't happen for some inexplicable reason. Maybe he didn't feel like it?
  11. I watched part of the hearings from this morning with Rummy answering questions and there were a few things that caught my attention. -Seems like this prison abuse thing was being investigated since January by the Criminal Investigation Division of the Army -In March the DOD held a press conference, which CNN of all people attended and asked a bunch of questions about it, and said there was a problem with abuse at the prison and the story didn't take. This one gets bold letters cause it was said by a Democrat and it was right on the money. From Sen Joe Lieberman: "I havent heard anyone in the Islamic world apologize for murdering 3000 people on 9-11" BINGO!!! Additionally, the secretary apoligized to the Iraqi's who were mistreated and was right to do so. I forget who said it but someone on TV mentioned that the way we treat these people is what separates us. Despite what the left is saying this is not Rummy's fault and I think in the final analysis this will be found to be the work of a small number of "soldiers" who had a bad breakdown in dicipline.
  12. While Gaqmmons is at it why doesn't he predict for us when he is going to stop polishing the collective knobs of the BoSox, Spankees and Flubbs. The Flubs are 3rd??? They are one series away from totally imploding and they are 3rd? I guess Moises Alou pissed on his hands or something.
  13. I think there should be. We're so busy as a society filling up kids with pop culture, porno, drugs, alcohol etc..etc.. why not give them some sort of a positive influence.
  14. The entire Flubbs organization must have a urine fetish, I swear! You'd think that rookies fresh from the minors are forced to drink from a beer funnel that has been pissed in by the whole team or something.
  15. All I can say about this is anybody but Sputter. PLEASE!!
  16. I'm with you about Loaiza. He wasn't fooling anybody last night. The O's were hitting ropes all over the park & if Dransfeldt hadn't booted that grounder they probably would have just got to him the next inning. We'll get 'em tonight though.
  17. How bout we remane this the "Who the hell really gives a crap anyway?" thread?
  18. I read in the papers where over 200 personnel who served with and commanded John Kerry during the war, from Admiral on down, signed a letter which describes the Presidential hopeful as a "traitor" and "unfit to be Commander in Chief" This is not a rub against his service during the war, but at his anti-war activities after he came back which include fabricating stories about atrocities he "witnessed or heard about" and denigrating his fellow servicemembers as "bloodthirsty killers" all in front of the U.S. Senate and on television. Pair that up with throwing his medals away he may as well have posed on that anti-aircraft battery with "Hanoi Jane" Fonda. And now this hypocrite has the balls to go out and thump his chest about his war record...........all 3 months of it. Spare me! :fyou Kerry
  19. If anybody watched the funeral and the eulogy's ( No I didn't watch the whole thing, I caught some of it looking for the Sox game ) they would have caught the circumstances around his death. A Navy Seal, who was in the same patrol, told of how he met his end. The convoy was ambushed by militants loyal to the taliban. The attackers were in an elevated position and shooting down upon the convoy. Cpl Tillman, in an effort to gain time for his fellow troops to find cover and return fire, charged up toward the enemy in an effort to draw their fire and possibly kill some of them and was shot down in the process. For his actions that day he recieved the Silver Star and Purple Heart medals. Now. In light of this coming out does anybody here still think that Pat Tillman is no more a hero than others who died in the war?
  20. Despite the flaws which his glorious ideology has it is good that people like him existed. If not for him and his vocal supporters, we would never know the folly of his way of thinking and may have tried it ourselves. Yes, happy B-Day Marx, however the world is a better place without you.
  21. I currently am in the D.C area on vacation and last night I took in the Sox game against the Orioles. I just thought I'd share some of what I saw with all you guys here at Soxtalk. Getting to the park was a snap. The 295 Bypass led straight to Camden Yards ( Which is right next to where the Ravens play football so their parking areas overlap ( I guess the designers never expect the Ravens and Orioles to be playing at the same time ). As for the park itself it is everything it is cracked up to be. The concourses are wide, the scenery beautiful and aside from a single loudmouth drunken college kid, the fans I talked to were polite ( even though I was dressed in my Sox jacket ) and very knowlegeable about the team and baseball overall ). I wanted to get some pics of the place but me, in my infinite wisdom, left my camera at the hotel. As for the game itself? Well, you all know what happened. You can hand the blame for that loss squarely at the feet of Kelly Dransfeld who by booting that grounder , opened the floodgates for the Orioles "O". By the bottom of the 8th I didnt see any more point in staying so I split and made it back to my hotel, which was a good 50 miles away, in under an hour. That's about it really. I would go again tonight but I'm driving to NYC in the morning and I dont want to stay up all that late.
  22. CENTRAL - RACE W L PCT GB HOME ROAD RS RA STRK L10 Kansas City 7 16.304 7.5 6-6 1-10 119 138 Lost 4 3-7 Didn't stupid boy pick these slugs to win the AL central? Kinda figures really cause Stupid Boy played most of his career in Seattle and we all know there's nothing up there but a bunch of Latte-swilling airheads.
  23. I WILL, I WILL Jeez-us!! I have plans to go to 3-4 games while I'm back this month, I just havent had a chance to go see the park since the renovations were finished.
  24. NEVER!!! He shall be struck by lightning as he makes the tying post.
