Trades
To me, were giving up Lee and Garland. Lee is most likely gone at the end of the season and well Colon is a stud, we'd be lucky if Garland would every reach that potential and then we get a guy like Vidro and Michael Barret. I just hope we don't give up any good prospects in return. Oh ya, I disagree with anyone that says we bench Jimenez, this just means Jimenez leads off and Vidro hits in the 2 hole cause Vidro isn't a leadoff hitter.

cbs sportsline rumor
Would the Sox just stick Borchard in the outfield and let him grow at the major league level? If they made a move like this they could afford to deal with his ups and downs, plus it could be good for him to be with our hitting coach, whoever that may be. Oh ya, may I add this trade only works if we sign him long term.

The good news is, KW said he wouldn't trade Honel or Borchard even if its for a difference maker, so they won't be part of this deal. I'd look for another relieving prospect to be moved, or a starter like Josh Stewart that is more of a fringe guy when compared to our other pitchers.

cbs sportsline rumor
Jimenez would leadoff and play short, with Jose Vidro(the best 2 hitter in the league, imo) would be hitting second. This would really give our offense a great spark-plug.

I'd say Jimenez goes to short, with Manos, moving to the outfield. Just a hunch though. That or we just stick Manos as a super sub.

Now if only KW can find a way for them to take Wright instead of Garland, either way I love it though.

Tim Hummel
Hummell's strength is he has a pretty good eye at the plate. Up until last year he was a hitting machine. Late in the Arizona Fall League it looked like he found his stroke that made him the White Sox 2nd baseman of the future.

Welcome Aboard Yasny...Its always great to have more Sox fans to discuss moves and baseball with.

cbs sportsline rumor
This is sounding awesome, as long as were only giving up a fringe prospect. I'm with ya Baggs. We'd get a true 2nd baseman in Vidro whose an amazing #2 hitter, and we'd be picking up a stud pitcher. I'd hate losing Garland, but they, Colon is a true ace.

Dub questionable for jets
Plus, Rdub has been playing like s*** all year. I still can't get over him for that half ass play on the interception return in the Green Bay game. Block you lazy sack of crap.

ideas for the bears
Enis or Salaam are just as good as Thomas. Atrain is a BUST, he just don't have the attitude the others did. I do like your Eric Crouch idea, its just I think the Rams are the only team that could talk him out of retirement. I'd use him to create mis-match problems.

My Guy: Tony Armas Jr.
I like the Paul Wilson idea, but I don't like the Reggie Sanders idea. If we are going to pick up another outfielder, let it be Vladdy or Hollandsworth or even someone like Vander Wall. Wilson is a quality pitcher and I'd love to pick him up, but not at the expense of Carlos Lee. I'll give them Matt Ginter and a fringe prospect.

Wahoo I'm Back
Soxnet's working for me, but I'll have Mario check on it. Great to have ya back Kark. Its too bad you didn't miss something big like the Sox acquiring Vladdy for Todd Ritchie :metal

Sn Report: Lee's Future is Dim as Sox Eye Pitcher
I agree with you all on this. Also, heck ya I'd take Kerry Wood. To me the most important thing for the Sox to get is a guy who can throw 200 plus innings. If they are doing that and putting up a decent era, we will be in great shape.

What about Chris Crapenter?
Well at Carpenters age it would be worth the risk if we signed him to a minor league deal. Very good points though witesoxfan.

Lebron James
From what they were saying, he's a pretty good kid off the court. I think the biggest worry is those aholes that will become friends with him and use him for his money.

What about Chris Crapenter?
Their goes that idea. I was wondering why the Jays would cut him. Its surprising how many teams now just waive a guy after he has arm surgery.

Winter Meetings
From what I'm hearing, they started today, its just most gm's got their yesterday. Anyway, its still been real quiet, despite the fact their are a good amount of players on the market.

My Guy: Tony Armas Jr.
My bad everyone...I swore he was a lefty, and i didn't bother checking it, just going off my memory. That would definately explain him getting the righties out at that clip. Either way I still like him. Remember Gary, Armas Jr. and Dempster are the same age. Armas is a little younger, but not much.

My Guy: Tony Armas Jr.
Well, I'd love for the Sox to pick up Colon or Vazquez or Maddux, but right now I think the best pick up would be Tony Armas Jr. or Ryan Dempster. Thats if the Sox don't want to add payroll. Of course, it will be very hard to get Armas Jr. unless we take on payroll, such as Tatis's contract. Still, Armas is only 24 yrs old, turns 25 at the end of April and is a hard throwing lefty. Last season he was 12-12 with a 4.44 era. The year before that he was 9-14 wioth a 4.03 era and made 34 starts two years ago and 29 this year. To me one of his finer stats is the fact that hitters hit a measly .243 against him in his career. The real fascinating stat is the fact that right handers don't hit him at all, .204 in his career, while lefties hit .285 off him. To me, if your a lefty, you can figure out a way to get lefties out, and that is something that can be taught.

Horace Grant
He was waived after the Bulls beat the Magic and I know Krause loves the guy and I think Cartwright thinks highly of his former team-mate as well. I would love to hire him as a coach and dump Pete Myers. I don't know if anyone else thinks he's an idiot, but I do. Then again, how you come off during an interview doesn't mean much, but this guy has the stupidest halftime interviews I ever hear. Pete: What does the team need to do better? Play better defense and put the ball in the cylinder. He basically says that every game.

Sn Report: Lee's Future is Dim as Sox Eye Pitcher
I love the idea of getting Ryan Dempster. I think we have a plethora of middle infield prospect and can afford to give one of them up if it gets us Dempster, whose only 25. The one thing I'm wondering is if he's hurt. He's thrown a ton of innings at such a young age and I'm wondering if its effected his pitching a bit.

Chad Krueter?
I dont' mind Myers, but I think Kreuter is much better. In all honesty, I don't care what veteran we sign, because I think they all are capable of teaching Miguel how to handle the pitchers. Anything we get out of their bat is just a plus.

What about Chris Crapenter?
Interesting. Carpenter has a lot of potential, especially as a swingman, imo. I'd be all over this signing. The guy is a good starter. Look at his number. The only thing I'm wondering is if he's coming off an injury. Does anyone know if thats the case, cause he only made 13 starts last season. The last of which was made in August. Anyway if you look at his career numbers, you'll see that the year before he made 34 starts with 3 cg's and 2 shutouts. He was 11-11 with a 4.09 era on a lousy team. That was his 2001 stats. In 2000 he made 32 starts and was 10-12 with a 6.26 era, but the two years before that he was really good. In 98 he was 12-7 with a 4.37 era and then in 99 he was 9-8 with a 4.38 era and 4 complete games. This guy has a very strong arm and has thrown a ton of innings. I'm thinking now would be a great time to pick him up, as long as he isn't coming off a severe injury. Very smart move by KW, if he would pick him up at like 500k.
