  1. I forgot to mention, WGN's sound compared to Comcast's is night and day. Kudos to WGN.
  2. Ick -- Politte is trying to be too fine with his pitches. I don't think he realizes that his 95 MPH fastball is pretty hard to hit, wherever it lands in the zone...
  3. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:37 AM) His agent will likely want Richie Sexson type dollars, maybe a little less Refresh my memory. What did Sexson get? I want to say 4/$40, but that doesn't seem right. Angry Cliff Politte has been really, really good Cliff Politte this year. So far.
  4. Anyone want to guess whether or not Hermy is available for tonight? Didn't he go 2 1/3rd last night? I'm not too confident in Shingo, right now...
  5. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:34 AM) You cannot build your offense around this guy. He was always the 3rd 4th or 5th option in the lineup but he can't be the man. He disappears too long I know I shouldn't be talking about this now, but I'm really interested in what he and his agent expect (as far as a contract extension). At the end of the year, I think Konerko should put up the numbers of a year ago. I'm not too worried about the slump, he's streaky.
  6. QUOTE(JimH @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:31 AM) Time for Konerko to deliver.
  7. QUOTE(JimH @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:28 AM) Iguchi should try to steal here. Good call, Jim!
  8. Come on, Harris. You got a job to do here, guy...
  9. Alright, Sox. It's time. Let's plate a couple here, huh?
  10. QUOTE(JimH @ May 1, 2005 -> 01:15 AM) He was referring to what hitter to go after. Keith, there may have been other factors to letting him go in that inning. I wouldn't get too concerned in April. Yeah, I'm overreacting. I still think he should have been done after the sixth, though. 105 pitches and he starts the inning? I just don't like the decision... Please get up, Aaron. Please, please...
  11. Hawk says, "He made the right decision". Ok, Hawk. Three weeks later, when Orlando is on the DL or going through a dead arm period, you can point (partly) to tonight. Who cares, we got three extra outs from him today, which will cost us down the road.
  12. Struck him out. I don't care. This is stupid. El Duque should be on a 100-105 cap. So f***ing pointless, Ozzie. Congrats, you got two more outs from him.
  13. Hernandez still in the game. Ozzie, when he goes down with an injury, remember today.
  14. What the f*** is Ozzie doing? Why in the hell is El Duque still in the game? :banghead :banghead :banghead
  15. QUOTE(Punch and Judy Garland @ May 1, 2005 -> 12:54 AM) you are right that lee's arm is not good But Lee had made himself to the point where he was at least an average LF'er (defensively). Which was more than acceptable considering what he did at the plate. He certainly wasn't as bad as people made him out to be, though. As for Podsednik, I think his speed makes up for a lot of his bad reads. That being said though, I agree with Jim -- I don't think he's great, but he's not terrible either. Not much of a difference between he and Lee. And so far this year, I appreciate Podsednik's job in working the count. I appreciate that he's followed through on his plan to swing for the fences less, and draw more walks/slap the ball around more. He'll never be a SLG% poweress, but hopefully he can keep his OBP above .350. Alright. Let's go, sacks packed, nobody out. LET'S GO SOX!
