Zack Wheeler: To the Phils (5yr 118); Sox had made BIGGER offer
Just hate that the Sox are leaked so much in this which is giving me pessimism that they'll get it done. Their track record is terrible in that department.

Stop overthinking this JA.

Would be amazing to watch. Hell, give the guy a defense around him and watch him do work.

Joc Pederson - Is it goin down?
I'm a big Heuer guy too. Kid has very good stuff despite the K numbers not quite being there. Watched him alot last season in Birmingham. Joc is one of my favorites for RF out of all the other players mentioned by some other posters. I'd be all in.

Hamels and his family love Chicago. I'm not shocked at all he wants to stay.

At this point (and I say this as someone who is not a fan of his as a person) if you are talking about trading assets to get a guy, I would explore trading for Hader and making him a starter. The guy started most of his career in the minors before the Brewers put him in the bullpen. He has decreased his BB% the last 3 years and increased his SO per. He is controlled for 4 seasons. Stretch his arm in spring training and see what he can do as a SP. Otherwise, stay the course and get Wheeler +.

I'll be the first to say it... fuck Josh Hader.

Not sure honestly. There's been a few media outlets that says he has but I can't seem to find the other time he tore it.

Gonna assume he means because Wheeler has had TJ twice like Eovaldi.

Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
Marcell Ozuna? Ok.

Sox in on Marcell Ozuna? I mean, maybe. Or not.
I said Marte has never played RF in his career, he hasn't. (Heyward has never played LF in his career FYI) The Royals once upon a time tried Alex Gordon in RF because of his athleticism.. he wasn't that good out there so they left him in LF instead and he's been one of the best defensive LFs in the game for about a decade. If we wanted to go get a good defensive LF with a good arm who is right handed with power, why not just go after Ozuna who is a free agent without giving up assets?

Heyward has played LF in his career?! News to me.

I ask you again. Did you think Jermaine Dye was good in RF when the Sox were good?

You would have two elite defenders in LF and CF since Marte has never played RF (you know what he is in left) You can hide Eloy in RF and tell Robert to go get everything covered in right center. You think Jermaine Dye was good in RF when the Sox were good?

He's still waiting on this one to happen.

He's always had the arm (alot of which makes him an analytical darling) but it's still a different position in terms of angles out there. I think he'll be solid, just not elite. Although with our defense in general, it's a major step up.

Because he's never played RF in his career before? Just because a guy is elite in one position doesn't mean he'll be great at the other. Hell I remember the Royals quickly squashing that decision with Alex Gordon in RF years ago (if I'm not mistaken, he's rarely played over there after that)
