  1. KC up 2-1 in the 6th
  2. Ven: it would have been "just our luck".
  3. The best thing about that show is whenever the Cubs are on FSN and Chip has to read a promo, he gets upset and uncomfortable that he is supposed to say the word "damn" and substitutes it with "darn".

We knew what it was like to get swept out of the finals about 10 years ago. I was at Game 4 of the Cup that year (I know, you're all happy for me). As The Penguins skated around the rink hoisting the Stanley Cup, my friend and I lamented that it was probably the only Stanley Cup celebration that Chicago will see for a long long time....
  5. Unfortunately I can't listen to the game because the damn site still says I don't have REAL Player, even though I do. I have that same problem too, BigHurt. I was able to get the games as recently as last week. I wonder what's up....
  6. Jim: Shouldn;t you be at a game or something?
  7. Much more player movement exists in AAA, both in new players and players going up and down to Chicago. Agendas are very different and the players don't always mix well. Veterans often resent prospects. That's a really interesting point, Rex. Jim B: Thanks for all the great info.

Milton indeed had the surgery, and is expected to be out for "up to two months": http://espn.go.com/mlb/news/2003/0305/1518987.html
  9. The 1990 team was a really fun squad to watch, so I'll always be a Torborg fan.
  10. These guys know their stuff and are on top of the Sox from the Big League club all the way down to A Ball. And Rookie Ball, too.... the Schnurstein Bandwagon is filling up over there....
  11. From what I remember from the report, Webster was able to get some great cuts against Schilling... supposedly he looked quite good with the bat.
  12. I am not condoning the trade by any means, but... I just wanted to point out that the extra 1st round draft pick would cost a couple of million dollars to sign, money that would be taken out of the '03 budget (money that we might be using to sign Kenny Rogers). And who knows if the pick would turn out to be a Rauch or a Ruffcorn?
  13. and Albert Belle's And Kevin Bell's.....
  14. Great stuff, Rex. Haven't I seen you somewhere before?
  15. The Sox AA club, the Birmingham Barons, are looking like they are going to have a lousy team this year. Most of our top prospects are either in AAA, with the big club, or in the low minors.

One report on Rowand can be found here: http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb...s_cws&fext=.jsp Aaron Rowand's offseason plans suddenly changed when he suffered multiple injuries in a dirt bike accident Nov. 1. He is progressing ahead of schedule, but might not be at full strength for the start of camp. According to Schneider, the club's projected starting center fielder "caught a tremendous break" injuring his left shoulder instead of his right. "Anyway you look at it, he's going to be behind because he should be hitting now and he's not," Schneider cautions. "He should be throwing now, but he's not. His skills will not be as sharp or tuned in (when camp starts)."
  17. The rule is that a team in the first half of the draft (picks 1-15) cannot lose its first round pick to free agent compensation. For these 15 teams, compensation starts with their second round pick.
