  1. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:07 PM) If you're a Republican you probably love it, for obvious reasons. But having said that, to be honest literally any Republican could've given that speech. Like i said was reported earlier, it was pre-written and infused with Palin at the last moment.
  2. QUOTE (FlaSoxxJim @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:07 PM) I know it's part of the job desription to keep peace and keep posters from crossing a line, but how was his statement borderline. two of McCains aides and three reporters reportedly heard him call his wife a c*** and a trollup (LOL) after she razzed him about his thinning hair. Commenting on that is off limits? Next we won't even be able to tell Cheney hunting accident jokes around here. . . sheesh. naaa. it was a bit rough. And given what has been going on her the last few days, it's toeing the line. I get it. No big deal to me.
  3. cue McCain doing he best Obama "surprise visit" ripe-off.
  4. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:04 PM) Wait John Mccain was a POW? I didn't know that. They never mention it. When is she gonna talk about her views creationism? she didnt talk much about her PERSONAL views because when it comes to foreign policy... she didnt have any until Thursday evening.
  5. This wont be a game changer speech. She's at the end. not enough. She needed to be less snarky for your national debut.
  6. MSNBC is gonna have fun with this speech in about 4 minutes.
  7. By the way, any war vets in here? You're ready t be president.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 09:00 PM) That's pretty borderline. Careful. sorry. probably went too far. my bad. deleted.
  9. Is she Rodney Dangerfield or a politician? Oh... here comes the POW stuff.
  10. QUOTE (Steff @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 08:55 PM) I get that her job is to rip Obama, but she can't even be bothered to show him the respect of calling him by name? And, IMO, the facts speak for themselves and her s*** shots only make her look stupid. she's just parroting the McCain talking points that have been often completely debunked by independent fact checkers. By the way, these really lame cheep shots are getting very old quick.
  11. QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 08:56 PM) It seems like she dosen't know a thing about Obama so she just does the little stero-type jokes. and the "democratic nominee" thing. His name is Obama.
  12. "raise income taxes ... raise payroll taxes ... raise investment income taxes ... raise the death tax ... raise business taxes ... and increase the tax burden on the American people by hundreds of billions of dollars." Blatantly misleading on many levels. and debunked by FactCheck.org.
  13. QUOTE (Disco72 @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 08:53 PM) I'm getting a little tired of the dumb jokes and attacks - I really want to hear more on issues. we;ve been over this and the McCain campaign has said it... its not about issues. It's about personality.
  14. well, they got her up to date on the Obama is God thing.
  15. "not even a major reform" oh like say... making government more transparent with Google for Government.
  16. QUOTE (Brian @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) She sounds like the lady from Fargo at times with her accent. I know it's wrong, but I have such a hard time believing in someone with those "northern accents" Yet oddly I'll believe anything said by a Brit. lol
  17. "thanks but no thanks" is a lie by the way. she pushed for and trumpeted for it.
  18. QUOTE (lostfan @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) It's ok... only right now is she saying anything memorable though. She is talking about standing up to entrenched interests and restoring government like say, hiring a lobbyist to get millions in earmarks
  19. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) Permit me a slight hijack, but Jays beat Twins 5-4 in 11! SWEET!!
  20. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Sep 3, 2008 -> 08:44 PM) Other than the family intro, which i thought was a little long/unnecessary, I've been pleased with the speech so far. I'm not saying it's bad. It's sold. but not a "OMG I have to vote for them" speech.
  21. a servents heart.. like say giving up a wall street job to serve the people on the south side?
  22. she's doing ok, but not a game changer so far.
  23. So far, not overly impressive as a speaker. Better than McCain though. Oh sly 9/11 drop-in there. Rudy must have left some of his 9/11 cold germs on the podium.
  24. If I heard right, the VP speech has been written for a while now and they simply "Palin-ized" it.
