  3. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2010 -> 09:55 PM) Way different eras. If anything, the 50s were easier for pitchers to gain statistics than the 70s/80s. Higher mound, bigger parks, more chances to pitch per year.
  4. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 6, 2010 -> 10:02 PM) 3/4 of 5 starters? Also, it just occurred to me, but is the title of this thread a reference to the show Hangin' With Mr. Cooper? Over 3/4 = about 4/5. Buehrle's straddling the line of 5.00 ERA with his 5.30.

  6. Venezuelan Spanish but be different than Cuban Spanish.
  7. He already owes his soul to someone for getting drafted.
  8. I can see Nix as the starting 2b soon and Beckham in the minors working on his swing.
  9. Crap. David Ross gets a hit with 1 out in the 8th.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 6, 2010 -> 08:40 PM) Morel's not a power hitting 3B. Viciedo COULD be, were he actually able to play 3B competently. For Houston, though, it's similar to the Peavy deal, salary dump....although they'll expect something better than John Shelby III or Cleveland Santeliz. Aramis Ramirez, perhaps?
  11. QUOTE (Kalapse @ May 6, 2010 -> 08:38 PM) Scott Olsen with a no-hitter through 7 vs the Braves. There should be a live look-in here. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?topic_id=6261176
  12. My whole point was that if Walker was going to get lambasted every time 3 or 4 guys are hitting under .200, then Cooper should also get grief because over 3/4s of the starting staff has an ERA above 5.00.
  13. They need a power hitting 3B.
  14. If he was serious, he'd petition all of MLB teams that are in the Cactus League to relocate.
  15. Robin Roberts passed away today. I was looking at his stats and I don't see how he's in the Hall and Bert Blyleven and Tommy John, aren't. Roberts - 286 W 245 L 3.41 ERA 305 CG 45 SHO 902 BB 2357 K Blyleven - 287 W 250 L 3.31 ERA 242 CG 60 SHO 1322 BB 3701 K John - 288 W 231 L 3.34 ERA 162 CG 46 SHO 1259 BB 2245 K
