  1. Only 3 days left to get a list in! Deadline is 11:59pm Sunday night!
  2. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 05:58 AM) If Ozzie blew anything, it was not having Anderson in defensively in the ninth. If he were in for Dye, the double would have easily been cut off and would have been a single. If everything else then went the same, the tying run would never have scored, but I doubt Ozzie will be lifting Dye for defense in a non blowout. He should have pinch run for Dye with Anderson first.
  3. QUOTE (Tony82087 @ Apr 18, 2008 -> 01:36 AM) With the way he managed tonight, he got the ball to his closer with a two run lead. Jenks blew the game, and a loss followed. I believe that the reason he gave up runs was that he and Linebrink have been pushed out there too much lately and were tired. There are downsides to winning. Killing your setup man and closer by pitching them too many games in a row is one of them.
  4. I question Ozzie's handling of the relief tonight. Why pitch Linebrink (8th) and Jenks (9th) just because the manager's rule book says so? Certainly they've both pitched quite a bit in the last 14 days. (Jenks 9 IP/Appearances; Linebrink 5 IP/6 App.) Why not have Logan in the 7th (4.1 IP/5 App.), Dotel to the 8th, (4.1 IP/5 App.) then Thornton (4 IP/ 3 App.) to close it? None of those guys have pitched as much lately as Jenks or Linebrink. In fact, Line-y has started looking tired out there since Tuesday's game vs. Oakland.
  5. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 10:37 PM) Theres nothing scarier than driving with a live cougar in your car. Except a live deer.
  6. I'd pawn off Smoltz, Rivera or Hoffman on someone who's still living in 1998.
  7. QUOTE (danman31 @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 12:54 AM) Yeah, all the keepers are on the correct teams, but Jason got an advantage. He got Soriano as his first non-keeper pick and I got Alex Rios, heh. If I could have shown up to the draft I would be able to complain better though. It's not a big deal since my team is doing well anyway. It evens out since Jason hasn't bothered to even set his lineup so far this month.
  8. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 01:00 AM) It would seem you are unfamiliar with the going rate for veteran #4 or #5 starters. $10 million a year is too much for a #4 or 5 SP.
  9. QUOTE (Nokona @ Apr 17, 2008 -> 12:52 AM) I gotta say, it's hard for me to root against Greinke and Bannister. Bannister is a total stat geek. Worships Bill James and %'s. His dad was a hell of a SP.
  10. One statue for him, one for the mustache.
  11. QUOTE (lostfan @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 11:06 PM) If Contreras is going to keep pitching lights-out like this I'm going to keep bashing him and talking about how bad he sucks. I'm superstitious. You won't see me changing my tune. He's old and overpaid. For what he's making money-wise, tonight should be the rule, not the exception.
  12. QUOTE (daa84 @ Apr 16, 2008 -> 09:07 PM) the O needs to pick it up... I agree. They've been sluggish since they played Detroit.
  13. "We run those out in Chicago!" Unless you are snacks and cakes.
  14. Ozzie better bench Uribe's ass for not running to 1st on that wild pitch.
