"I just knew 'we' were going to come back"
Stocking replied to Greg Hibbard's topic in Pale Hose Talk
My DM all season teased me that his son got season tickets for having perfect attendence to the Sox(clearly a knock on our fan base). After game 2 he told me we have 2 more left, I corrected him. "You mean I have two more left" -
lots of hockey fans here, check out the sports pub forum. ATH is reserved strictly for baseball (not dealing with our White Sox) discussions. But Welcome.

I've seen it ask many times before, figured this is the place to get a straight answer. I want to put Rooney ALCS call and the Let go White Sox song on my ipod. I've seen the link to play the songs, that means s*** to me. How can i download the songs into a mp3 format that i can move them to my itunes; short of going to kazaa or some place like that. Thanks in advance guys, and im sorry that this has probably been answered a few ten times.

Hahaha......FINISHED!! And how f***ing amazing it was running through all of Chicago's neighborhoods. Chicagoans are truely f***ing amazing people. I killed my goal and ran a 3:34.50. Placed 4474 out of the 40k. Sure i can barely walk today, but its something that i think everone should experience. At mile 26 my legs are about to cramp or fall off and I turn a corner and there is Chicago version of "heartbreak" hill (I heard it was new to the course this year?) . the crowd is screaming and all the pain you felt just vanishes. simply amazing, thank you everyone for your support. side note i must have been running next to someone with a Go Sox on their chest cause for a good 5miles I kept hearing "Go Sox". Brought me a big smile every time.

QUOTE(hi8is @ Oct 9, 2005 -> 06:03 PM) says what source? It was in the Sox Notes in the daily herald. But as a "possibility"

QUOTE(DePloderer @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 12:24 PM) I've done a few marathons before although not this one. My advice re family and freinds is not to have them try to follow you on the course, it's never worked for me. Possibly get them to wait at the half way point, a big cheer can help, and meet you at the end. Something I did in my last one was to write my first name in BOLD somewhere on the front, I lost count the number of times I was cheered on by name by complete strangers, it helped through a few rough patches ( and there will be some!) Most of all, don't get cought up in worrying about pace/time, as it's your first just enjoy it. BTW with the help of my club I've just been accepted into next years London. Thats awesome deploderer, congratulations on being accepted into londons marathon. keep us updated. unfortunately i wont be supporting any sox gear, been training without a cap. Im hoping to finish in 3:40, . thanks for all the kind words and advise everyone.

QUOTE(mkalk @ Oct 8, 2005 -> 08:22 AM) So true. The Red Sux and the Cubs were/are not cursed. They just suck(ed). Our team has sucked in the past. We can admit that. That's why we don't have a "curse" ESPN should shut up about the "Shoeless Joe curse" THERE IS NO SUCH THING!! Not only do they make up our curse they called it the curse of 1917. It would be 1919 dickheads. We do not need excuses like those f***tards on the north side or the red sauks who just could never beat new york. no we are not cursed we have just sucked for really long. nothing wrong with the truth.

QUOTE(kapkomet @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:50 AM) GOOD LUCK! And when you get to 18, and the tough get going, kick that wall's ass. And then, when you get to 23, yell SOXTALK as loud as you can, which will make that last 5k SMOKE by. Mile 23 is right outside the Cell, will do

QUOTE(mreye @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 11:25 AM) I've never ran it, but have had quite a few friends run it. Have your friends / family meet you by Buckingham fountain. That's where everybody meets. The have signs out there with letters on them (A-C ; D-F) Go to whatever letter your last name starts with. Another thing - at the start of the race - make sure your family is on the west side of Columbus, otherwise they won't be able to cross for a long time. Thanks for the info, appreciate the support guys.

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Oct 7, 2005 -> 07:08 AM) "I just crapped in my pants". A friend of mine literally had a shart and was late to work. His boss was going to let him go till he was told that he was on his way and let out some gas and a little something followed. guess he felt sorry for him. haha same kid crapped himself while eating once too, oh now i need to to tell this story. So we are sitting at an outdoor patio eating. 4 guys, our food comes. "no, no that didnt just happen. " looks around with a blank stare, "no way, im 23 years old this shouldnt be happening." lifts an ass cheek, "yup, I just crapped myself, god damn it!" I just about pissed my pants laughing.

QUOTE(mr_genius @ Oct 3, 2005 -> 06:21 PM) Thats the job he chose. He wanted to work a "cool" and "fun" job now he has to deal with bad parts of the job. Sorry, no sympathy from me. My brohter works in a dangerous construction job, he doesn't complain. A lot of good friends of mine are bike messengers (super dangerous job), I'm sure they think exhaust fumes from a CTA bus is bad for them (which it definately is)... OK so lets ban busses too. Hey, it's never too late to change careers. And doesnt the government set standards and protections on lower speed limits with minimum fines/jail time? CTA buses, emission laws. Smoking restrictions.......dont worry they are coming, f***ing prick.
-
if you cannot just go outside for a smoke, you are just f***ing pathetic. ex smoker, bartender, cannot wait for this ban to happen. Been smoke free for a year and every friday i feel like i smoked a pack by myself. f*** you, inconsiderate self centered pricks. ... &
