Im somewhat perplexed as to what they think the end game is here. No reason they should be down 4-6 in numbers.

No love for Moses leaving Egypt?

I dont completely forget he was a PG. Jon Leuer was a PG before growing to 6'10, he had a dramatically better jump shot than Davis, better mid range and better driving ability. I do not believe hes played 1 minute of 3 at the NBA level. Ive watched Davis 4-5 games, I dont see him as a 3. Now if you are saying Noah is also a natural 4, then I agree, Davis is a 4. But if Noah is a 5, Davis is a 5. Like I said 4 or 5 really depends on the dynamics of the team, but looking through the NBA, Davis would likely be a 5 on many teams.
-
Davis cant play the 3, at all, I dont believe he played that position for 1 minute this season, I actually doubt he played the 4 more than a token amount either. Just for comparison, according to draft express, Noah was 7 ft, 223 when he entered the NBA. Draft express has Davis at 6'10, 214 Now onto the idea that Davis can be a 3: http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Anthony-Davis-6236/ These comments are exactly what I have seen when Davis has played. The guy would really be a terrible 3, he has no jump shot, no driving ability and no isolation ability. He could possibly be a 4, but that would only be on a team that has no legitimate 5, because as of now, Davis could arguably be a top 10 C, just based on defense alone. The idea of 4 or 5, really doesnt mean anything, because it depends on the opposing team and situation. In my opinion he will always be a 5, regardless of what you want to call him. His greatest abilities are defensive post protection and will likely match up against the best 4/5 of the other team. Unless Davis dramatically improves his game, he is not a 3, Im not saying it wont happen, but as of now he has really done nothing to show he is a SF.

Yeah found a site that listed him at 6'7 at the draft. Which is why its hard, they all have wrestler listings. -

I said imo hell be drafted before Sullinger. The reason he would be drafted before Sullinger would be based on pro-projections. Its my opinion based on watching them play, I dont see 40+ OSU games, but I probably catch at least 5-6 a season. I could be right, I could be wrong, but its my perception of them, and I doubt Im the only person who may believe that, right or wrong. -

If Sullinger had the same height/length as Kaman, Id be a lot more optimistic. The problem is Sullinger (imo) is a short 6'9, it says Randolph is 6'9, but I would bet he is taller than Sullinger. I think Thomas will be a better pro than Sweetney, so that really doesnt change my opinion. I think Thomas is good, could even become really good. -
Steve, I disagree. Davis should be a Center, hes an athletic big man, just like Noah. He can dribble the ball, just like Noah. Davis jump shot may be slightly better than Noah, but in my opinion, its pretty overrated. He probably has a better vertical than Noah too. That being said, he could be a 4 on a team with a top 10 Center, I just cant imagine most teams having a better 5 on defense.

I dont think quoting Sullinger's press accolades will change my opinion that Thomas may be the better pro. I just have concerns about Sullinger's game translating to the pros. -

I have to believe Thomas is declaring, imo he gets drafted before Sullinger. -
Comparing Davis to Noah is severely underrating him? Davis is not Dwight Howard, maybe hell put on a bunch of weight and get stronger, but right now he just isnt Dwight Howard. After that, there is a second tier of Centers, and Davis most likely will fall into that group. Anthony Davis has been great, but he doesnt often play against a lot of other talented big men. If you watched the UNC v. UK game (one of the few times Davis was matched up against another potential pro C), he was not really that dominant. In fact, its arguable that John Henson, played better than him (Henson is 6'11, 220, with a long reach, similar to Davis.) The stat lines were as follows: Henson, 10 pts, 8 rebounds, 3 blocks 33 minutes Davis, 7 pts, 9 rebounds, 2 blocks 34 minutes Davis played Zeller 2x, in both games he was under 10 points In the NBA, Davis is going to be matching up against Zeller/Henson type players every night. Ive probably seen 10 Kentucky games this year, I just really think hes a lot like Noah, his best attribute is defense and the hope would be that he gets bigger and improves his offense.

Santorum is polling oddly well in Madison, when you look at that it just seems like Santorum may perform stronger than expected. With only 10% reporting, just hard to believe they are calling it definitively, although Santorum needs to do better in Milwaukee area.
-
Are they calling Wisconsin for Romney already? Just looked at the map and somehow Santorum is leading in Dane County (Madison), it switched to Romney now, but it looks like the big Democrat areas (Milwaukee, Madison) are reporting, but the smaller more Republican havent yet. The reason I mention that is it stands to reason Romney would do well in Democratic parts and Santorum in Conservative.

Davis is getting overhyped. The guy is good, but the Centers in the pros are drastically better than those in college. Hes not Dwight Howard, hes more Joakim Noah.

According to Alpha and Genius this is about race. So it stands to reason that they are upset because a white person was attacked and the black person was not arrested. How can we live in a society when criminals like Martin are allowed to roam free? Thankfully we have heroic citizens like Zimmerman who saved society from criminal acts of Martin. The real question is, why is Martin not being charged posthumously, should he not stand trial for his crimes?! What has America come to, when a black teenager can walk through a gated community unarmed and not be arrested? I definitely can see that the Sanford police have gone out of there way not to charge Martin with a crime. Im thinking of doing a million white man march. Were all the white men can get together and protest this outrage. WHO'S COMING WITH ME!

That may be true, but too many people just think a 5-4 decision has to be political. In cases like this, it is always likely that it is going to come down on the political spectrum. Conservatives are generally pro-govt anti-criminal rights, liberals are generally anti-govt pro-criminal. These arent the unusual cases where you get a states right judge giving federal power at the expense of the state. That is when its clearly political, this one was much murkier. The risk is that if you complain about every 5-4 decision, it takes away from the actual bad 5-4 decisions. Sometimes a 5-4 decision, should have been that way, sometimes not.
-
In close cases there usually isnt a right side or a wrong side, there are just different opinions as to what is the best policy.
-
This is what Ive been trying to explain: This is why the whole idea that it was summary judgment etc was important. Because the Supreme Court was not ruling that about these facts, they were ruling about whether any set of facts can exist.
-
Illinilaw, Not sure if you are aware, but in this case it was only a "visual" search. No touching at all. If it involved touching, I would be against the ruling. Visual is much grayer area.

George Marshall (red shirt frosh) should play pg, they also have Traevon Jackson and Brust. Bo's system really isnt pg based so good chance you see a guy like Gasser in the PG role, etc. Taylor was a great player, but his on the ball play wasnt exactly the norm for Wisconsin. -
Iamshack, There is a reason. They are trying to prevent contraband from getting into the general population (this ruling is about strip search prior to being introduced into general population.) The problem for the system if the Court rules the other way is as follows. If I am member of a gang, I use the fact that they can not strip search for minor offenses, to get contraband into the jail. I have other cronies come in for stupid things, and they have the contraband. If it is illegal for the Jail to strip search without probable cause, there is a high chance that this contraband can enter the jail, because I know they are unlikely to search. If on the other hand, the Court rules that strip searches are not a per se violation of the 4th amendment, that means there may be a strip search and thus contraband is more difficult. I dont believe the Court specifically ruled on the facts of this case. I do not believe they said that even if the police make grave errors and there is a complete miscarriage of justice, that the Plainitiff cant recover. I believe what they are saying is that any criminal cant sue the jail, just for simply having a strip search and further, the jail doesnt have to prove they had reasonable suspicion. I didnt fully read the brief, because its way to long to not get paid for.

Wisconsin is going to be tough next year, who knows how it plays out. -
At some point there is a line of what is reasonable. Its a deprivation of rights when you are handcuffed, when you are put in a police car, when you are taken to the station. All of these things can occur before you are even officially charged with a crime. As a society we have determined that there are some instances where rights may be given up, by an innocent, so that society can function. What if you couldnt handcuff people until they were convicted? How would that impact the system? This is the same logic that is being applied here. Right or wrong, Im not sure that a strip search (without touching) is a per se rights violation. If we are going to get crazy about police states, lets start with the Federal Govt raids in California on medical marijuana distribution centers.
